not a big name dropper but saw De Niro and Pesci a few times...

they roped off quite a bit of the Casino (no pun intended) for the night shootings..

had to use different elevators to get to the rooms..no big deal...
asked one of the crew what was the name of the movie...

wrote it down back then so I wouldn't forget..haha...who woulda thought it was going to be huge..

unfortunately, did not get to see Sharon Stone...fvck me...

What was weird about the whole thing was..

people really (for the most part) didn't give a fvck and just went on as unusual

still was cool to see though
where?

Prior to the release of "The Godfather" in 1972, my favorite mobster movie was "On the Waterfront", which was a Disney film compared with what was to come. I think "The Godfather" is a masterpeice that cannot be adequately praised. All the movies mentioned are clear blockbusters but or me it is "The Godfather" by a mile.

I respect this very much... for me another factor that makes me like Goodfellas a bit more is that, itself is very realistic and certainly based on real events and real stories from Henry Hill and the Lufthansa crew, the despiction on how the mafia can turn their backs on anybody that served them as long as they are not made, how can you be loved and killed in a 48 hours difference... seems like the mafia is more like that instead of the romanticized version of the godfather, where honor is what matters the most.

I swear I got PTSD from that Pesci scene when he gets the baseball bat beating and burial...It seems the forum sees "Goodfellas" and "Casino" as number one. I am curious how many of those voters were around in 1972? I mean "The Godfather" was kind of like the Beatles, it changed the culture in America to a certain degree. I can see the "Goodfellas" argument easier than "Casino". I love Sharon Stone as much as the next guy but that greasy James Woods boyfriend dude kind of had me shaking my head too much.
