Twins have gone 10-19 since June 1st. 12-19 since the thread was started.

After all that I still have their offense due to drop off quite a bit more. Minnesota actually hit okay at times during those losses. Vargas is the only hitter in their lineup I'm worried about. Arcia has potential but he's not with the big league club. I just don't see them scoring many runs.

I'm going to keep this going a bit longer.

I probably should have said this before the game today (I took the over, verifiable in SO Office Plays for those that have SportsOptions) but the Pirates are just about the opposite of the Twins offensively.

Pittsburgh is going to be a tough offense for opposing pitchers for a bit. I was worried that Burnett might get hit by Detroit too so I stuck with the over. I'm not sure how much value the Pirates will have on the ML but they should score some runs if nothing else. Have yet to do a full breakdown. Might roll with team totals. Might play ML. Might hit overs.

The only person on the entire team that is hitting past their potential for power is Marte. Beyond that just about every lineup regular is hitting substantially below their estimated/realistic power threshold. This is similar to why I faded the Twins, but the inverse.

Marte, McCutchen, Walker, Harrison, Polanco, and Kang are all hitting below their average potential. Nothing staggering like the power department but there is plenty of room for improvement. Look for the Pirates' lineup to start cranking out the long ball this month. That is my advise.

Nice I like the sound of that. Sano coming up. He's kinda scary. Probably will only hit .215 but has elite power.

Twins are 5-11 since the break. 24-32 since June 1st.

Sano is being a thorn in my side as I predicted. I like his bat.

The team has actually been hitting decently throughout the last few months. The pitching has come down to earth.

It's only a matter of time before this team stops hitting completely. They don't have a guy that would regularly bat up high in the order that is due to hit. Just about every power hitter on the team is due for regression. If they ever called up Vargas or Arcia I'd start to get a little worried but Minnesota hasn't done so yet. Those 2 bats could have an impact close to Sano but Minnesota wants to stick to their aging veterans and that will cost them. I'm going to keep riding this out as I don't think Minnesota has gone through their truly bad stretch yet. It's coming.

Twins have now dropped 12 of their last 15 games. Lost their last 4 by an average of 7 runs.
