Toronto has put 5 of their first 9 batters on but has 0 runs to show for it. Minnesota still looking for their first base runner.

Good stuff man. Do you do this for all 30 teams?

If you already did the Braves I would like to hear you perspective on them if you get the time.

How good do you think Shellby Miller is?

Looks like John Hart kicked ass this offseason with all those trades.

Still hate losing kimbrel though

Eventually I'll get to all 30. Each team takes about an hour to run all the numbers I want.

I did Atlanta though. Don't see much in the way of offensive potential going forward beyond Freddie Freeman. Freeman's power stroke should pick up before too long.

Beyond him I'm not sure anyone on the team hits 20 homers this year. Team has very little power. Chris Johnson getting healthy will help the team. Outside of Freeman and Markakis (possibly Peterson I guess) I'm not sure anyone else hits .280 on the Braves.

With guys like Maybin, Kelly Johnson (when healthy), Gomes, A.J. expected to regress power-wise and the team not having any big bats to make up the difference I don't expect a ton of scoring from Atlanta. Markakis and Freeman will be key if the team wants to score runs. Ultimately I don't think Atlanta does much offensively this season. Too many guys who don't hit for a high average and they don't have the power bats to counteract it.

I do like Bethancourt a bit. Think he might do okay in the 2nd half, but even his "okay" isn't that good. He'll be better next season.

Also haven't looked at Atlanta pitching. Haven't really looked at any pitching just yet.

I like the move even if Miller doesn't pan out. Heyward is good for 20 homers and .270 (I think he has a nice 2nd half BTW) but with the Braves rebuilding he'll be wasting his prime. Might as well try to get someone who can help out in the future.

Miller should be a solid starter for many years. I love his curve and the cutter he's now comfortable throwing has really made him a better pitcher.

This is going to turn into my bitching thread.

Blue Jays had bases loaded with 1 out and don't score anything.

8 of 14 hitters have got on base in 3 innings and they don't have a single run.

Twins have sent the minimum to the plate.

Still tied.

The month of June should be a downturn for the Twins just based on schedule alone.

4 at Boston
3 home vs Milwaukee
3 home vs KC
3 home vs Tex
2 at StL
2 home vs Stl
3 home vs Cubs
3 home vs Whitesox
3 at Mil
2 at Cin

14H 14A

But you have Cubs, Royals, Cards for 10 of the games. 4 at Boston and have improving White Sox and Brewers.

Throw away everything in the first post and this alone says to fade......

Add in the first post with this one and you are backing up the brinks truck.

June 1 it begins at Boston...................

One more thing. Especially fade the Twins against lefties. Vargas and Oswaldo Arcia are really the only 2 bats in the Twins' lineup that I think could hit decently this month and both of them struggle to hit southpaws.

LOL...they are only like around 16-4 against lefties......

But I can see them losing to lefty Rodriquez from the Red Sox next week.....

Those types of games drive me nuts

You can see the writing on the wall by the middle innings

The team that did nothing the whole game gets a bloop and blast and your guys lose with double the hits

Cruise what do you think of the shifts?

Mere fad that will work itself out similar to the read option or new norm that possibly needs to be tinkered with by the eye in the sky?

Short answer

It is here to stay until batters start putting time and effort into taking advantage of the HUGE opportunities that are there for easy base hits

The shift was on when Dave Kingman was in the league

Twins are 2-0 since he started this thread.

I should say the 1st place Twins....Best record in the AL at 30-19 playing .612 baseball.

Twins can very easily be the Royals of last season.

Let`s not forget who the manager is......Paul Molitor......He was a winner....Won a world series.....World series MVP.....Over 3,000 hits.....Life time .306 hitter.
