Wow, why not just hand the Yankees the title right now?

Season Over/Unders don't lie. They are projected to go 100-62. -500 games? Not even close.

Fez, that's an interesting point. If they're expected to go 100-62 then their "average" ML should a little over -160, right? I think we can pretty much bank that it will be higher than that.

Well the average of -160 is probably about right.

Likely -190 average at Home, including all games versus Boston, Minnesota, Anaheim....

Away their average will be -130, 140 or so...you'll even see them as Road Dogs versus Pete, Schilling, maybe Colon in Anaheim, Mulder in Oakland etc.

Let the Yanks rip off 15 in a row and watch their lines go sky high. By the end of August if say Kevin Brown is 18 and 2, he will be prohibitive in Yankee stadium like no one before. Bring in a team 40 games below 500 and you just might see -500.

Late last year the Tigers were at .250. That's an average of -300 yet I seldom saw lines go that high against them, especially at home. I made a lot of money fading the Tigers.

I can't imagine even the Yanks going at -500 even with Brown pitching. Brown was -10% last year against the money.

15 in a row Wil? Can I lay -500 they won't have a run like that?

You got me there Wil, if the Yanks win 15 in a row and then are facing a last place team at home with Mussina or Brown starting then maybe, just maybe they will be laying a magical 5 bills. Short of that I would be stunned.

Wil, how many times have there been 15 win streaks in the last 10 years? I remember a 14 game run by the Padres, and they sucked that year, but I can't remember one that was 15. Maybe I am forgetting one or two runs like that, but I can't remember any off hand. That is nearly impossible and no matter how good this team is I can't see them or anyone else doing it.

Wild Bill - I will just mention the 2002 Oakland A's. FYI. they won 20 games in a row. Sure the Yanks winning 15 in a row is a long shot, but it is far from impossible. Natrually you know better.

Oops, that is right forgot about that A's run. They were getting some hideous lines there, they were going off at -280 with their 4th man in the rotation going once they hit 16 wins. Still to win 15 in a row is a tough task in MLB and I would easily lay -1000 that the Yanks won't have one this year and probably have a ton of value in it.

My real point is if "Yankee Mania" strikes the square betting general public, anything could happen. I should have worded the "rip" with something like 15 wins in 18 games. When that happens it seems like the team never loses, which causes a swell of Yankee money every game. This is especially true for sheets from the New York area. We shall see in September if numbers get out of control for Yankee, or even Red Sox home games.
