Sacramento -6.5 -105 (Winner 102-94)

The Kings need to build off of their win against the Raptors and defend their home court. They will be facing a team that is severely struggling with personnel right now and they will have to take advantage of the situation. The Kings don’t have very much depth as all of their starts average in the upper 30’s in minutes played. The Pelicans will try to get something going without some of their key players from last year. Their most recent acquisition of Archie Goodwin should help a bit but I don’t know if he will be available for this game.

Atlanta +8 -109 (Su Blowout Winner 110-106)

The Cleveland Cavaliers, despite winning each of their first six games, have kept their contests relatively close throughout. LeBron James actually joined Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail recently, so it’s possible that his focus might not be 100% on Atlanta for this game. The Hawks have a talented roster that can shoot, pass, and especially play defense. They rank sixth in the league in points allowed on average, so Cleveland could have a tough time scoring at will in this one.

Minnesota -4 -103 (Lost)

The Nets are still trying to fit all the pieces of a jumbled rotation together and it’s proven to be a difficult task. Brooklyn is firing up far too many threes to have a success rate of just over three of ten. The Nets have to start driving to the bucket and setting up higher percentage scoring chances. Minnesota has the weapons offensively and just need to put them to use efficiently. The Timberwolves have had Brooklyn’s number of late and should be able to get the victory in this contest.

Detroit has a much better team, and I think they’ll be primed and ready to bounce back after their embarrassing 32-point loss to the Clippers. That loss to the Clippers was only the third time the Pistons have allowed more than 89 points this season. They have one of the league’s best defenses, and they should be able to frustrate Phoenix’s offense. Meanwhile, the Suns defense has been the league’s worst. They’ve allowed over 100 points in every game this season, and opposing teams have scored more than 110 points in every game but one. Additionally, the Suns should be tired in Wednesday’s match up with the Pistons. This will be the second game of a back-to-back set, and they’ll be taking the red-eye back from Portland the night before. Detroit bounces back in a big way and blows out a young Suns team in this one. The Pistons cover easily.

Houston is 1-4 ATS in its last five against the Western Conference, 1-5 ATS in its last six against opponents with winning percentages over .600, and 1-4 ATS in its last five following a win. The Spurs are 5-1 ATS in their last six against the Southwest Division, 5-0 ATS in their last five playing on at least three days of rest, 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between the two teams, and 4-0 ATS in their last four at home against the Rockets.

VEGAS SOURCE PLAY: Miami -1 -105 (Lost)

The Heat have a big edge with Whiteside down low and with Dragic at point guard. I expect Wade and Butler to play well but it won’t be enough for Chicago. Look for the Heat to pick up a narrow win in Wade’s return.

Miami is:
5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Central.
12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games.
4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games.

Chicago is:
7-25 ATS in their last 32 vs. NBA Southeast.
5-11 ATS in their last 16 games playing on 0 days rest.
1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.

REGULAR GAMES:

Sacramento -5.5 -105 (Lost)

The Kings are a much better home team and the Lakers generally can’t buy a win on the road. DeMarcus Cousins has started the season slow, but he’s on the rise the past few games and should dominate a Lakers front court that has no chance at defending him. In a fast-paced game, I can see this one going quite poorly for the Lakers.

Golden State -6.5 -105 (Super Blowout Winner 125-101)

The last time I played the Warriors on the second night of a back-to-back, things backfired, but they’ve looked better as the season progresses and now face a Nuggets team that can't match up small. If they try to go small, they’ll be using Kenneth Faried, who will get blown up in the pick-and-roll. If they stay big with the Jokic and Nurkic combo, they’ll get pulled apart by the Warriors' Death Lineup. With Klay Thompson rediscovering his shooting touch, this looks like a blowout.

(Vegas Source) Toronto -7.5 (Winner 118-107)

Another match up of teams playing the second game of a back to back here should be an interesting one. Toronto plays tough defense while the Knicks have had serious deficiencies on that end of the floor this season. The Raptors have a terrific back court duo in DeRozan and Lowry. That’s not something the Knicks can match, even with Rose back there. Toronto is the deeper team and they have a more cohesive rotation. The Raptors should take this one fairly comfortably.

(Vegas Source) Phoenix -5 +100 (Super Blowout Winner 122-104)

The Brooklyn Nets can’t generate any offense without their point guard, Jeremy Lin. With Lin out, the Nets are 7.1 points per 100 possessions worse than with him on the floor, and that will show Saturday against a fast Phoenix Suns team. The Suns have played better as of late too, and Eric Bledsoe has rediscovered his form. I’m backing a rested Suns teams to easily defeat Brooklyn at home. Take the Suns against the spread.

Detroit +5.5 (Easy Su Blowout Winner 106-95)

The Pistons beat the Nuggets by almost 20 points earlier this month, and now get to face them on the road. Andre Drummond went for 19 points and 20 rebounds last time out, and should feast once again. Even if the Pistons can’t grind out a win on the road at Denver (which is admittedly a tough place to play), I expect them to at least keep it close, which makes them a great value at +5.5

Atlanta -14.5 (Blowout Winner 117-96)

There’s no polite way of putting it folks: the 76ers are a dumpster fire. Philadelphia was clobbered by this same Atlanta team by 32 on their own floor a couple weeks ago. On top of that, the 76ers are playing the second game of a back to back and have to fly be the Hawks. Look for them to win this one and cover the line comfortably!

Here are my results.....

(Vegas Source) Portland -7 (Push 112-105)

Denver has been hit with injuries early in the season and the Nuggets are going to be severely shorthanded tonight at the shooting guard and small forward spots. They’re also one of the worst teams at defending the guard position, which plays into Portland’s strength with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Considering Denver had to travel to Portland after playing at home last night while the Trail Blazers rested, I feel really good about this one.

LA Lakers Under 216 (Lost 224 Points)

The Timberwolves have slowed things down under new head coach Tom Thibodeau. They face the fast-paced Lakers, but will likely try to control the pace at home. With the Lakers on the second night of a back-to-back, there will be tired legs all around and I expect the pace to drop a bit. The total is too high considering the circumstances.

The Pistons managed to break through with a win on the road to stop their skid at three games. It’s a tough task to deal with the Thunder with Westbrook playing as well as he has this season. Oklahoma City will be a bit fatigued after playing at home against Orlando Sunday but the Thunder has a pretty deep rotation. Detroit battles but falls just short here. Take the point and the visitors as they win by a half dozen or so.

REGULAR GAMES:
Houston -11.5 +102 (Super Blowout Winner 115-88)

The 76ers are terrible and there’s no way to really paint a pretty picture for Philadelphia. The team is 0-3 on the road with only one of those decided by single digits. Houston has a ton of talent and excellent options, starting with Harden, on the offensive end. The 76ers really don’t have anyone to reliably count on: even getting double digits, you can’t like them too much. Give the points as Houston wins in a romp.

LA Clippers -16 -108

LA Clippers Under 213 -105

This is an easy one. The Nets have been playing better than expected but they can’t match the fire power of the Clippers. The Clippers have been taking care of the lesser teams as a good team should do. Brooklyn is averaging 106 points a game but they lack talent. Los Angeles should score at will but the Nets won’t score more than 100 points. I like the Clippers by 25 or more tonight!!!
