Wednesday Results (2-3) . Season Record (4-5)

Here are my results.....

Denver +1.5 -107 (Winner 107-102)

These teams are very close but I think Denver has more talent and depth so I will take the points with them. Danilo Gallinari is a star player that will make some noise this season, I expect him to have a big game against the Pelicans weak defense. I feel if the Nuggets can contain Davis, then they have a good shot in this contest. The Nuggets have Nurkic who is much improved down low, as well as Jokic and I think both will be tough for Denver to handle, and I think they will definitely make their presence felt and have a big impact on this game.

Oklahoma City -9 -108 (Lost)

Joel Embiid makes his NBA debut for Philly, but I think Victor Oladipo will make the bigger splash playing alongside Russell Westbrook. Look for the Thunder to start the post-Durant era strong and roll past the undermanned 76ers.

Oklahoma City is:
Thunder are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games.
Thunder are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

Philadelphia is:
76ers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win.
76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.
76ers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 3 or more days rest.

Charlotte -2 -105 (Easy Blowout Winner 107-96)

Milwaukee was pretty bad last season and now they have to replace their best shooter. Charlotte is a better all-around team and Antetokounmpo can only do so much. He can’t cover for all the deficiencies Milwaukee has, including at center where Greg Monroe struggles to protect the rim on defense. Take the better team.

Houston -6.5 -110 (Lost)

It will be interesting to see how life without Kobe begins in Los Angeles, but I would not expect the debut of the new squad to go well. Houston won 24 more games than the Lakers last season for a reason and the reality is that neither squad has changed a whole lot. Even with the free agents that each team brought in, the Rockets are still the better squad. Give the points and take them on Wednesday night.

Sacramento Over 211.5 -110 (Lost 207 Points)

The Kings lost the first meeting with Phoenix in the desert last year but won the final three, including a 105-101 victory at Talking Stick Arena in the most recent meeting. Phoenix has won 14 of its last 20 home games against the Kings, who have won six games in the Valley since Nov. 6, 2005. The over is 5-2 in the past seven meetings in Phoenix.

THURSDAY RESULTS (1-3) . SEASON RECORD (5-8)

Small favorites and underdogs...... moving on to Friday.

LA Clippers -2.5 +100 (Easy Blowout Winner 114-106)

The Clippers won three of four regular-season meetings last year. Portland is 6-13 against Los Angeles since the start of the 2011-12 season. Mason Plumlee averaged 14.5 points (57.6% FG) in four games against the Clippers last season, his highest scoring average against any NBA team in 2015-16. Plumlee did little in the opener vs. Utah.

Washington +4 (Lost)

Both teams have a fair amount of upheaval in their rotations. The Wizards have a new coach as well though perhaps the team will respond better to Brooks than they did down the stretch to Wittman. Washington’s success or failure will continue to be based on the health of Beal. They’re simply a different team when he’s not in the lineup. He’s healthy right now and that gives the Wizards the edge in what seems destined to be centered around Howard getting 30 free throw attempts and hitting 12 in a close loss. Take the points and the Wizards.

Boston +1.5 -103 (Lost)

Boston Over 208.5 +100 (Lost 204 Points)

The Bulls have the third most turnover from last season to this season roster wise in the league. If the only two teams with a bigger number than you are the Knicks and Nets, that’s not an encouraging sign, regardless of the category. Boston is playing the second game of a back to back but Wednesday’s game should be a fairly easy tilt with the aforementioned Nets the opposition. Boston has plenty of depth and scoring options throughout their rotation. I expect the Celtics to go on the road and come out of this one 2-0 as they win again.

SATURDAY RESULTS (3-2) 60% . NBA SEASON (10-11)

Here are my results.....

San Antonio -13.5 (Blowout Winner 98-79)

The Spurs led for only 14 seconds during the first half of Thursday’s win over Sacramento, but the bench came up big after the break. Backup forwards Dewyane Dedmon (12 points, four blocks, four offensive rebounds) and David Lee (12 points, five rebounds) led a second-half charge. Whereas Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge are getting plenty of help, Davis did not get much of the same in the Pelicans’ opener. New Orleans is 0-4 ATS in its last four overall dating back to last season, while San Antonio is 4-1 ATS in its last five against the Southwest Division. Roll with the Spurs and also consider the under.

Brooklyn +8 -113 (Easy Winner 108-110)

This spread seems a bit high and the Bucks do not impress me. The Nets were able to put up 117 points against the Celtics, and the Bucks are mediocre at best on the defensive end, so I think Brooklyn will be able to hang around in this one. The Bucks do not feature much offense, and the Khris Middleton injury really hurts the Bucks scoring. Milwaukee has the slight edge on defense, however both teams are reasonably close on the offensive end, so I am confident the Nets will be able to hang around and keep this one close.

Oklahoma City -8.5 -110 (Blowout Winner 113-96)

Lakers’ guard D’Angelo Russell will have to rebound from a 3-for-14 performance against the Jazz if the visitors want to keep up with Westbrook and company. After all, you can bank of Westbrook coming close to another triple-double, if he doesn’t get all the way there. Los Angeles is 1-8 ATS in its last nine on the road, 0-6 ATS in its last six on the road against opponents with winning home records, and 9-22 ATS in its last 31 against the Northwest Division. The Thunder are 5-2 ATS in their last seven at home against opponents with road winning percentages under .400, 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between the two teams, and 6-0 ATS in their last six at home against the Lakers.

Memphis +2 -105 (Easy Su Winner 112-103)

The Memphis Grizzlies are a better team when it comes to the match ups. The Washington Wizards’ offensive issues may turn out to be problematic, especially against a superior defensive unit. I don’t see the Wizards putting up 100 points, but the Grizzlies will. So, I’m backing Memphis on this one.

Golden State -11.5 -101 (Lost 106-100)

Everyone is waiting for that breakout game where the Warriors come out and absolutely bury someone. Granted, we’re only two games into the season but buzz around the league burns like wildfire and people want to see things NOW, not later. Facing a Phoenix team that struggles to stop teams with one option seems to point in Golden State’s favor. How can the Suns contend with a team that has multiple weapons?

Dallas +5.5 -105 (Easy Winner 92-93)

The Mavericks really missed Nowitzki Friday night, however he is back in the lineup for this contest which is a big boost, and I expect Dallas to come out strong after losing two games to start the season. Houston shot 47.1% from the field on Friday but I can’t see them repeating that performance, and the Mavericks will shoot better then their 8 for 29 performance from three point range on Friday night. I don’t like Houston’s defensive play, they conceded 120 points to the Lakers in their season opener, and I think Dallas rebounds with a strong shooting performance.
