Been happening at card shops online and brick and mortar since Sunday evening....This is nothing new?

You seem really disgruntled that you took a shot to profit off a tragedy and got denied.

Most sellers can cancel and order for any reason and long as you receive a full refund.

Seems like you are just mad that the card seller is going to profit off a card and not you.

If you would have been smart you would have been buying up Kobe cards prior to Sunday he was obviously going to be in hall of fame.

You were just waaaayyy late to the party.

Stock is right. The price of poker went up. I do agree that Steiner sports is a scumbag company but they don’t give a shit about integrity there fucking whores and had that order been phoned in where you spoke to someone instead of an online sale it would have been shot down immediately.

You obviously have zero experience dealing in sports cards...

I'm not sure you have any actual business experience if you think what happened to you was wrong....supply and demand is a basic concept.

What you are not understanding is you are blowing up over a business that is going to do the exact same thing you were going to try and do and you are mad about that? ...LOL

I will tell you this though I dabble a little in the trading card business and have been buying up good quality Kobe cards for at least the last 10 years or so...And your situation is hardly surprising and nothing new.

You are waaayyyy too late to the game and don't even realize it.

You should not be mad at the website, you should be furious with yourself.

I don’t need to be mad at myself . I’m good , was trying to make score that was offered. I’m in the gun business I don’t care about the card business. It’s a Ethical business issue that’s all.

In the regular business world I would agree with you, in the card/sports mem. business this is standard behavior.

Have been dealing in this world since I was a kid and pretty much every company/dealer are scumbags.
They pretty much all would screw their mother over for a buck, so you really have to be on the ball and
able to negotiate to get things at prices you want them for and not get screwed trying to sell anything to them.

I don't blame them either as I assume you did an online purchase.

Steiner Sports has good cards but they are scumbags, how do you think they have been around so long.

I am going to say pretty much every dealer would have cancelled your online order as circumstances have changed and they do not know
the value of Kobe's items. Sports cards/mem. is a very fluid market

How much more is a card like that worth now?
Sports cards are a funny business and a general rule like anything the worth is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Obviously since this sudden tragedy card shops are pulling Kobe cards and waiting to see what they start selling for or rather testing to see what people will pay for them.

Like I said this happens ALOT on high value cards...put up for auctions/for sale get an offer and then cancel the transaction only to relist the card at a higher price.

I don’t agree with this tactic and I feel bad that the OG of this post had it happen to him.

However it is a common practice in the trading card business.

I just think he feels like he got slighted but does not understand this happens ALL the time....And the shops/sellers do not care about their reputation because if you got the goods another buyer will be willing to step up.

Trading card prices rise and fall ALL the time, like anything you have to know when to buy and sell.

The day an athlete dies ESPECIALLY a sure fire hall of famer is NOT a good day to buy...You are way too late to the party by then.

Like I said I have been buying up Kobe cards for a long time for the simple reason that one day I knew he would be in the hall of fame and the prices would rise around that time. Now with these events happening it’s kind of a wait and see who pops up with what cards and what they are selling them for.
