His contract expires the same time as James. They play different positions as well. They could sign James or whichever big free agent they can get and then resign vince if they want.

Don't they both play the 3 spot (SF)? James is versatile though and really does play positions 1 through 4 at different times in the game. Maybe Carter plays guard I guess?

And i really doubt they'd be able to have both james and carter on the payroll when theyd also have guys like Harris, Yi and Lopez. Yi really isn't important, but Lopez is huge and you need to make sure you have room on teh cap to resign him longterm when the time comes to do so. Same thing goes with Harris. If they can somehow work room for all four they will have probably the best starting give in the league. It would just be sick to watch those four and maybe a vet that signs with them like McDyess.

Carter plays 2 the 2. They could have them all as far as the cap goes because they can sign there own players for any amount over the cap, but i doubt they want to pay luxury tax.

Still a long ways away and a lot of things could happen. They have a pretty good team right now though so its not like 2010 is all the fans can look forward to.
