At Saturday morning's prayer meeting, (Texas GOP) party leader Tina Benkiser assured them that God was watching over the two-day confab.

"He is the chairman of this party," she said against a backdrop of flags and a GOP seal with its red, white and blue logo.

The party platform, adopted Saturday, declares "America is a Christian nation" and affirms that "God is undeniable in our history and is vital to our freedom."

"We pledge to exert our influence toward a return to the original intent of the First Amendment and dispel the myth of the separation of church and state," it says.

Doc,
At least they finally admit it! But they need to take lessons from the Puritans, Muslims, and everyone else who's ever tried to govern by religion, and know that it WILL NOT WORK!!!!!
Thier defenders get so pissed when you accuse them of trying to destroy the Sep. of Church & State, but now the truth comes out! They know where the votes are, and don't care who they have to manipulate to get them!!
Makes ME SICK----:pucking:

I seriously doubt that Jesus would want to chair anyone's politcal party.

These folks sound like Evangelico-facists. :icon_conf

200 years ago our forefathers had the wisdom to know that separation of church and state was a vital necessity for freedom and keeping the government from becoming a religious monarchy and somehow these moralist clods are reverting to the same ideologies we fought against over 200 years ago.

Perhaps in their infinite wisdom they could inform us as to the correct sect we should belong to....would hate to see a Catholic/Baptist/Lutheran rot in hell for simply believing in the wrong trump.
