No disrespect, but I would never understand why someone would prefer FLA or CAL.
Cost of living is less in FLA. Thats the only advantage. And I guess there is a reason for that...
The day I move to Vegas, is the day I give up and say its over.
Pass over it no matter what direction you move. Vegas is a place to visit. Not a place to live.

I grew up in New England(RI) and moved to Indiana 24 years ago for my job. Cheaper cost of living was the main reason for the move and have no regrets for making the move. Love it here and the weather is much better here than New England. One thing to add to this
Cost of living in Midwest is great. I would have to be a multi millionaire in California to afford the house I have in the midwest. But the weather, lack of diversity, and general boredom is the tradeoff

Love it down South for this very reason. Cost of living is comparable to the midwest but the scenery and weather are SO much better.
And having good weather pretty much year-round, combined with some nice natural beauty, really opens up the things you can do to get out of the house.
Down South there is only one season.
Shit is green all year.
Up North trees change, you have snow, you know what i mean.
This is not true. We have 3 seasons. Hot, rainy, and really fucking hot and rainy.
Seriously though I know whatcha mean. My folks still live in Chicago, so I get to go see snow at some point each winter. 3-5 days in that cold is enough for these old bones these days though and I'm usually more than ready to come back. Ya feel me?
Last 10 years I have been in Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, and now Alabama. I'm eyeing Charleston SC as my next stop, probably next year.

Its "removed" from Charleston but close enough to be Charleston Metro (I believe anyways). If you'd need to be in Charleston on the reg traffic to and from would be a potential con to living in Folly but if a regular commute to Charleston would not be necessary just you needed or wanted to be within that particular area Folly Beach should be considered when moving to Charleston is considered.
