A mandatory payout on the Woodbine Standardbred Jackpot Hi-5, featuring a carryover of $352,873.10, is set for Saturday night (December 22) at Mohawk Park.
Multiple-winning tickets on Friday’s Jackpot Hi-5 ensured a massive carryover for Saturday’s mandatory payout. Woodbine will be offering a Jackpot Hi-5 mandatory payout for the third consecutive year on the final card before Christmas.
A mandatory payout on the Jackpot Hi-5 in December of 2016 saw more than $2 million of new money wagered into the pool. Horseplayers that connected on last December’s mandatory payout took home $49,437.10 for a $0.20 winning ticket.
The total pool for Saturday’s mandatory payout is expected to exceed $1 million.
The Jackpot Hi-5 requires horseplayers to select the top-five finishers in order and features a $0.20 minimum wager with a 15 per cent takeout. The wager is offered nightly on the final-race of each card.
Saturday evening’s card at Woodbine Mohawk Park will also feature an appearance by Foiled Again, as the richest Standardbred of all-time continues his farewell tour. The 14-year-old winner of $7.6 million will meet fans for photos in the winner’s circle at 6:30 p.m. and compete in the evening’s sixth-race.
Post time for Saturday’s card is 7:10 p.m.
