Now that was bloody close trytry. By a head or so. I had $50 to place on #8 as well as the win bet.
Had he not got caught on the rail before the third turn, he would have been there earlier and had enough stretch to catch #10.
R7 - Too much too early for Eternal Cossack. He had no real need to press that pace but nothing I can do about that one. Move on with my head up I suppose. I laid light on that race given the pick-em attitude I had.
The only horse I feeel can beat PoPo here is Radar sign. I have laid some on him to back me up. Po is heavy favourite and THAT is exactly when he disappoints me.
PoPo comes through. $4.60 to win is good money for him and a $200 bet.
Radar had a good lead for a bit until the stretch....
Chalky but still a moneymaker. Would have preferred a Radar sign when he was sitting at 6-1 but still making a bit on that one.
i lost a touch here with all the losing exotics, win and place and show did not make up enough for what I played......but quite close to another nice one..... still got what two more?
2 more to go. I laid off the exotics there because I figured Popo would have lower odds - little value given the cost of the exotic. I just went heavy on Po and backed up with a $50 radar sign bet assuming he'd stay around 6-1
And I did mention Westcoast man "coming to life" in the stretch - could have been useful.
I was expecting high odds on this race but I am taking money......... still good dough to be made if he can take that outer post - if he does, we deserve more!
LAST race for me tonight - 10th. I will have $250 on "Channel Six". Been a prosperous night to say that least and I intend to end it on a high note.
adding 3/4,7/all as well. tri
