BAS, go to the NRA site. It will explain everything in plain English. The NRA supports responsible gun ownership, gun safety, and our 2nd Amendment. You can join for as little as $25.

Hell, I believe even the ACLU is against the watch list in it's current form.

Love to hear how do you stop a purchase from a private seller to another private seller? How would the government even know if such a transaction took place? Gun registration has already been deemed unconstitutional in some states.

Keep in mind, it's already illegal to sell a firearm to a felon, it's already illegal to commit a "straw" purchase.

Well, this is something that needs to be overhauled. IMO, there should never be a private gun sale that doesn't go in a data base of some sort.

Maybe not, but they are both amendments, therefore under the law they are comparable. If the government can take away a right without due process, that's the precedence.

In the scenario provided, they aren't comparable.

The rules for guns are outdated. They were written in a different time. Guns have gotten out of control in the United states. There is absolutely no reason some American citizen needs a gun that can rattle off 100 rounds in seconds. Make them illegal and the penalty for possession of one extremely severe.

oh wait hunters need them! Get a new hobby if it takes 100 rounds to kill something.

the number of murders in the usa by guns is out of hand. The best way to reduce that is reduce the number of guns. The people are someone's son, daughter, mother or father.

i feel bad that kids need to an elementary school that have metal detectors to try to avoid someone with a gun coming to their school. What kind of country do we want?

lastly how can such a high percent of Americans want change yet our elected officials can't pass anything.

first question, is why do you get to decide how many rounds I need to protect myself or my family? If your wife or daughter needed a handgun for protection, don't you think she should be able to use as many bullets as she feels she needed until she felt safe?

You talk of these "murders" that are out of hand. I'm just a 40 year old guy, but isn't murder already illegal and what makes you think that those committing murder care about "gun laws". The cities with the strictest gun laws have the highest death rates.

can you process this fact, that there were over 350,000,000. that's 350 MILLION with 7 zeros, guns that did not commit a crime today.

"High percent of Americans want change"? What change do you speak of? What question were they asked that they said yeah change that.

It's sounds like you want confiscation? Is that what you REALLY want?

lastly the "rules are outdated", so do you think the rules for the 1st amendment are outdated too? I mean there wasn't internet back then, and what other rights are you willing to negotiate on. It's not like this document you speak of hasn't lasted 250 years.

Answer just one question.....why is the number of murders higher in the United states than any other nation? If you don't come up with the answer guns in the United states then there is no help for you.

They aren't higher than any other nation. USA is not the murder capital of the world.

One your comment of all of the guns that weren't used. I guess we could also say..... Look at all of the nuclear weapons we have that were not used today. But the two we did used only killed a couple million people. Maybe we should all have one of those too.

England and Canada for example had less than 600 murders. We have a problem
...I would say a direct correlation is the number of guns

Maybe but there are other nations that don't have guns that have have higher murder rates. If you don't think it should be a right, that's fine amend the constitution. Taking away the 5th amendment is not the solution.

I think we need to make changes so less people die in the usa. There is zero reason to own an automatic weapon that can shoot 100 rounds in seconds. Eliminating them would be a good starting point.

I believe the last 6 or 7 mass killings in the usa have used the same weapon.

Ban and it and make very strict laws if you are caught with one.

Automatic weapons are already illegal. They are not easily obtainable. If you are not going to educate yourself on the different types of guns, then I'm not willing to discuss any type of laws banning certain guns because they look scary to you.

and please tell me more about this gun that shots 100 rounds in seconds. You must be talking about your gun while you are playing Call Of Duty, cause no gun exist to civilians.

"Elimate automatic weapons would be a great start"
Automatic weapons have been banned since the early 1930s, so now what do you to do?

Do do you think most murders are committed by big scary rifles?

since you know so much about guns, do you know how many milataries in the world use the AR15?
its between zero and nada.

Its like you just regurgitate talking points from msnbc.

you want to ban stuff so quickly, let's ban radical Islam. Or are we still not sure what cause Orlando?

i hope my senator doesn't budge one bit in the discussion, thats why I elected him and expect him to do the job we elected him to do.

I'd say the exact problem is the person who decides to use the gun.

Appears all of your posts in this thread are lacking one important thing, facts. I'm not sure if you're just exaggerating for effect or are just clueless regarding the subject.

I find it quit astonishing how willing some of you are so willing to give up your rights. it's like some of you don't even realize what this country has lost so you can be afforded those rights. Please stop saying "it's just a document" or "its outdated", just makes you look silly to rational people.
