The week leading up to the B1GCG against the Buckeyes there were some rumblings that Gary Andersen was unhappy with the admissions at Wisconsin not letting in some of the recruits he was going after each year.

He knew he was just wasting time with urban his mentor in the same league. 0-2 against him with a 59-0 loss did did him in

Don't understand why any of this would have gone on during the week of the biggest game of the yr. I know here in Columbus the team and coaches were focused on the game and nothing else. They were not worried about any recruits last week. I suppose now this will be the excuse for the 59-0 beatdown

Wow.

I don't know anything, but Ive heard rumors that Alvarez is almost too nosey, and maybe Anderson didnt have free reign to implement his style....just pure rumor and speculation, though.

I'm sure BernieVegas has all the insights on the issue. He "knows the program" very, very well!! @)

Maybe it's pay? I know that was the reason Bielema listed for leaving (more pay for his assistants). Personally I just don't think they can recruit a difference maker at QB. When they had Russell Wilson, they were dynamic. Before him and after they've been unathletic and inconsistent at QB. I will give them this, they've done more with big slow stiffs that any school I've ever seen.

Wisconsin has an identity and a brand of football that its fans and most importantly its boosters pride themselves upon. Alvarez understands that the best. If you come into Wisconsin and want to run too much spread style stuff it won't go over well. Kind of why the Tanner McEvoy experiment at the beginning of the year frustrated many.

Yes, Im aware of the identity. I said as much early in the year the musical chairs of positions for McEvoy wouldnt be successful. But if he could even moderately pass and they'd have won, the fanbase would have been fine.

Oregon State is going to pay him more money, this guy prefers the west coast and the spread offense. WI is and has generally been too one dimensional, there is a reason why they only pound the mediocre teams and lose to top teams every year. Look at this year's schedule LSU and OSU were the only big time programs on their schedule and they lost them both. Minnesota was a nice win, they were better, Nebraska is a shell of what they once were and the BIG 10 is a poor conference right now. So he is going back out west, getting paid more money, and can recruit a QB.

Now if you want to talk Bielema, Alvarez couldn't stand him, thought he was an arrogant asshole.

Wisconsin is too old fashion to ever win a Big 10 Championship. Alvarez still believes in three yeards and a cloud of dust. That may have worked well back in the day, but in the last 7 years, Wisconsin is 1-6 S/U in their Bowl Games and 2-5 ATS. Wisconsin can do all of the fan and student caca they want, but until they start playing 21st century football, they will always be an "also-ran" in the Big 10.

Oregon State gets a much needed upgrade in their coaching staff. Anderson knows that he will have to install a wide open type offense to compete in the Pac 12 against the likes of Oregon, UDub, and Stanford. I look for good things from Oregon State this next season.

Here is a real shocker. Wisconsin AD Barry Alvaerez has announced that the person who will be the head coach for Wisky's Bowl game against Auburn is..............................Barry Alvarez. Didn't he pull this caca before when Bielema left? He lost that bowl game to Stanford. Maybe Barry likes to coach in bowl games.

Saw this coming a mile away. Why wouldn't he allow one of the assistants to coach it? At least one that could be a potential replacement for Anderson? Selfish....ego maniac.

Heard a writer say he asked Alvarez how much input he has into the football program, the response was basically "I dont tell them what to run, but I let them know what kind of player we need to recruit to maintain my football program." He added that Alvarez is known for watching the games so intensly that he doesnt like even being spoken to.

Alvarez is a helicopter AD. I'm sure Anderson got tired of him hovering around, and was ready to jump at any west coach job to come open. I'm not crazy about him being on the playoff committee either. I've never liked the idea of having any of it's members still working in positions affiliated with a university. Plus I'm sure Alvarez is the squeakiest wheel on the panel when it comes to honking for the Big 10. I'm betting his voice was the loudest when it came to Ohio State just after they beat his Badgers. Plus isn't the head of the committee an OSU alum? It's good to have friends in high places. At least the Big 12 has Andrew Luck and....and...and. The Big 12 has Andrew Luck..

Okay time for a litte perspective on Alvarez and the Wisonsin program. First of all this is a relatively small state without the athletes you would see in Georgia/Louisiana/Texas etc. All Alvarez and the guys he hired have done from 2003-13:

Won 96 games
Finished in top 25 8 of 10 years
Went to 10 bowls games and won 3

Now if you want to nitpick the bowl games they either lost to SEC teams down in Florida or Pac 12 teams (except TCU with Dalton) out at Rose Bowl. This is a one of the top 15 programs in the country so you can take shots at the guy all you want but that's a pretty damn good track record.

Well, then he needs to just become the head coach. Otherwise he's nothing more than Dan Snyder. Let the coach do what you hired him to do: coach. If he wasn't ready to step down he should have stayed on. He's meddling and he's now run off 2 good coaches.....

Dan Snyder never won shit in football. Clemenza has won by himself, with Bielima and with Anderson. You know know yet if he ran off Anderson either.

Totally not the point. He's either the AD or the head football coach. What is he? NO ONE wants to work under those conditions. Either they are in charge....or he is. He needs to let the coach do his job. It doesn't matter what the hell he's won.

No one will ever know how much influence Alvarez and/or Osborne had in the Committee meetings. If Alvarez was a loud voice, who was going to question just how much Wisconsin was overrated or how week the Big10 was this year? Who on the Committee was speaking up for the Big12? I will bet it wasn't Osborne or Alvarez. Jeff Long? Why would he? I think Briles expressed his displeasure with the Committee makeup as diplomatically as possible when he mentioned Manning's absence.

I posted before and I'll say again that the personal dynamics in groups such as the Committee can be strange things. I've been on a few BOD's where members that you would expect to be strong influences based on their backgrounds and personalities ended up being rather passive.

A lot of $$$ was a stake for these programs and conferences. Based on my experiences, it is more likely that there were personal agendas and biases than not although it more than likely didn't change what final four teams ended up being selected this year. It might have though.

Sure Bernie. We all know you're a REALLLLL important man!

Again, good luck w/ that coaching search! Wisconsin just lost a good one....

Like I said asshole I know the program very well

Asshole wanna know why I know the program very well

First of all I played at Wisconsin from 1976-1979 under John Jardine and Dave McLain

BUT

more recent well not that much more recent my nephew played for Coach Alvarez when they won back-to-back Rose Bowls in 1999 and 2000

I'm not an important person but I know the program ass hole...My nephew still stayed close to the program because Coach Bielema coached under Coach Alvarez during his tenure. Bielema was hand chosen by Alvarez to take over when Alvarez became the Athletic Director.

Alvarez and alumni were not happy with Bielema's performance in big games and Bowl games especially. Bielema was poor at preparing his teams for games and his in game coaching was horrendous. Sadly, Coach Anderson was similar.(but coach doesn't know shit thinks we lost a good one lol) I think he thought he was coaching Utah State vs the jokers in that conference. Now he's going to Oregon State and he won't have to worry about defense because the only team that plays defense in the Pac 10'is Stanford.

But forget about that ass hole you know more....

*****and to the joker contending Wisconsin was only three yards and a cloud of dust. If you knew football Wisconsin EVERY YEAR has had one of the top offensive lines in the country.. The NFL is full of Wisconsin offensive lineman. The BEST OFFENSIVE lineman in the NFL is from Wisconsin, JOE THOMAS who happens to be a Wisconsin native. On top of having one of the top offensive lines in the country, Wisconsin year in and year out has had some of the top running backs in the country. From Billy Marek to Ron Dayne to Montee Ball to Melvin Gordon to Clement next year because no one will be better. This is just naming a few of the RB's there were plenty more. Wisconsin never needed to pass with offensive lines and running backs like they have had. If you don't understand football and the power of a solid running game you should really shut the fuck up...Just BernieV's opinion

Hate to rant especially to guys who don't know their ass from their elbow but I just got sick of some of the full of shit people on here...

Yours in Winners
BernieV

*****and to you guys thinking it was the money. Coach Anderson knew what the market was and knew what he was getting paid by Wisconsin. HE TOOK THE JOB!!! Wisconsin WAS NOT THE ONLY SCHOOL going after Coach Anderson.
