Wireless repeater question....

so i play video games on my laptop. works fine upstairs. even works good in the basement when i'm directly underneath the room with my router ( my router is a D Link, DI 524, 802.11g/2.4GHz). However once i move the laptop into my room which is in the corner of the basement "HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM". Video games will still play but my latency becomes so bad they are basically unplayable.​

I have a Linksys router with a Linksys Range Extender. Works perfectly for playing on XBOX. I only experience problems when I am torrenting or downloading something. I would recommend the D-Link Range Extender: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...=DLDWLG710&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=403626


As you are less likely to have problems setting it up.
