Intangibles the silent killer. We are aware that we have to deal with intangibles but do we really understand what an obstacle they pose? You can analyze a game but you can't predict the intangibles. That's one of the reasons I don't bother doing write-ups on games. More times than not it's those unexpected things that determine the winner. Here is a list of all the intangibles I can think of. These are things that may happen in games and they can have a direct impact on the outcome. Nothing on the list is something we as players can foresee we just live with them for better or worse.
INTANGIBLES:

2. Scoop and score
3. Kick off return
4. Punt return
5. Missed FG
6. Missed Ex Point
7. Safety
8. Fumble
9. Interception
10. Penalties
11. Missed Penalties
12. Poor clock management
13. Wasted timeouts
14. Bad coaching decisions
15. 2 point conversion
16. Weather
17. In game injuries
18. Overtime
19. Hail Mary's
20. Reviews (& reversals)
21. Uncatchable center snap
22. Pulling starters
Now that's 22 things that can change a game. Who hasn't had a bad result directly because of these intangibles? It is not uncommon to have multiple items occur in a game look no further than Clev on Sun. Houston scores 14 and they are getting 7.5. Clev scores no offensive TD's but who wins Clev all because of these intangibles. No one predicted that.
