As added incentive to get Mosley to sign the fight contract, Oscar verbally agreed to pay Mosley an additional $500,000 from his own purse should Mosley win the rematch. After the fight, De La Hoya admitted that he would challenge the decision with a boxing commission.

However controversial the decision, De La Hoya ought to step up to the plate and pay up. And right away. I have yet to see the fight for a second time, but Oscar did himself no favors by allowing Shane to steal most of the later rounds. This is becoming a common problem for Oscar late in his career.
