It kills me how people think that a bookie has this major advantage because he can see who everybody else takes and go the opposite way.

That shit does not work. There is a little thing called 11/10 that gets in the way.

A big mistake bookies make is pressing their side. All fun and good when you're winning but not good when you start getting beat.

true, but it's always helpful to know when 75%+ of a guys action is on one side. in the long run, those plays are generally winners for the book.

for a guy who supposedly takes all his bets online (no call ins), he sure is around the computer posting plays all day on saturday and sunday.

if i was a big bookie, i would be out spending that coin on the weekends. at least watching some games outside the house, you know?

Honestly cannot understand why people are betting games just on whether BB needs a side. It makes no sense. He is just one book of thousands across the globe and in many cases may not even be close to representative of where the public is on a game. Also you have no idea whether his action could be shaded because of middlers, other bookies laying off, or sharps laying into him. Not to mention his "needed games" are based on total money wagered not even percentages of bettors on the game. So you could have just 2 Joe publics on a certain side mixed in with a few large sharp wagers and its becomes a "needed game" but in reality is not even a public game.

He gives out a ton of games which means even if his picks were true representative of public action you would have to play every game which means you need deep pockets and are going to get juiced to death. You can't just pick and choose which games to play because obviously the public does win some games. Not to mention this is the internet. Unless you personally know the guy and his business you have no idea as to his intentions in posting these plays.

People playing games strictly on his games IGO are just as dumb as the joe public bettor.

Thats not true. I know what everybody says and everybody thinks, but it aint true.

A bookie loses more contests than he wins over a season.

Who says a bookie goes out and presses when he knows what the public is taking. A bookie is gambling all the time just like you are. The 11/10 gets him extra money, but most of his income is made from.....you're not going to believe this...GAMBLING! That's right! He's FORCED to take the side you don't want.Doesn't matter what his opinion is on the game. So he's gambling that the oddsmaker is sucking in enough money on the right side...the losing side that is.

Players are going to have winning weeks once in a while, they have to or the bookie isn't going to have many customers. But over the course of the season, the players are usually going to lose. There's maybe two seasons over the last 10 years that the players came out on top.

There is a difference between booking and gambling. It does not matter that the bookie does not get to choose which side he wants thats totally irrelavant, he should still have the best of it. If he doesn't then he's not doing something right. When you're gambling you need to win 6 out of 10 games to quit winner. When you're booking you can win 4 out of 10 and win.

I just read you post again and I misunderstood it the first time. I pretty much agree with what you said, but it is a myth to think that if you go against the public you will come out ahead in the end. Or if you go against big Joe the bookies players you will come out ahead in the end. It just does not work that way. Not quite that easy.

i been saying for a few months that this guy ain't no bookie. just a kid thats another attn whore thats trying to make a name for himself.

I've often thought that myself(and still do). At least a few sites & sportsbooks make available their "who's on what" percentages.

I swear that this is some kid laughing his ass off at all of you that are kissing his ass like he's the next Billy Walters. Oh well, I guess we do tend to get a new flavor of the month\year....at least every football season.

Oh well, at least it's worth a laugh to follow.
