I doubt if there is anything that is nonstop from Minneapolis to San Jose so with that in mind you would probably have to change planes in either Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston or Miami depending upon the airline. That will mean a layover of close to two hours so you are looking at about a 9 hour trip minimum.

Here is a link that will give you some prices and fight times. Use these airport abreviations: Minneapolis is MSP and San Jose, Costa Rica is SJO.

There are other sites that offer discount fares but this one has some pretty decent fares.

Just imagine going into a bar in the states and never being told no....that's the Del Rey...

That's one thing that blew me away at first at Adelita's Bar in Tijuana. It really doesn't hit you until you walk in the door for the first time and look at all the Latina 10's (some 3's, 5's and 7's too). I could have sex with any woman in the place for $60.

I'm using my last coaster from the Blue Marlin. Time to go back soon.

CR is one more country Euros (lots of Germans) and US anglos are successfully polluting. Beautiful peaceful high literacy education system (higher than the US)- demonstrates what communities and countries can accomplish if they don't flush all their assets down a 400 billion per yr military toilet. Pickpockets in San Jose are among the most skilled worldwide but their gun-murder rate is minuscule compared to US. Burning out irreplaceable rain forestry for one or two years of cattle sales to the US fastfoods is a major international problem. CR wildlife, birds, fisheries were unequaled prior to being introduced to the wonders and beauties of US Capitalism. Remains to be seen if smart capable CR's can prevent US and Euros from turning their country into the normal used-up right wing US-backed militia-murderous drug war environmental sewer.

Can someone spell it out for me? :think2:

Without completely spelling it out, you can expect what Wil's referring to being the lead story in every newspaper and every newcast (at least in the U.S.) this coming Tuesday.

If you hate rain, find somewhere else..if you want to live here with no rain, I suggest December-June....rainy season is torture...

Honestly most foreigners get tired of CR really quickly, CR is very different from the US and while there are decent amount of 'pros' there are a few but extremely annoying 'cons' (traffic/crime and well, if you don't learn Spanish expect things to be even more frustating)

best suggestion I can give is do NOT buy any real estate AT ALL unless you stay here a couple of years and decide that this is really something you want to do. you probably should try a month /setting (as in one month in Guanacaste/ one month in Jaco/Quepos, one week in Arenal area, one week in Grecia/Atenas, one month in Escazu/San Jose, ) and then decide what it is that you want . Prices here are in decline as well (although I am sure that realtors will tell you that prices always go up/ never been a better time to buy/ this market is different etc etc)

if you come here expecting to have an US lifestyle without the cold weather you are in for a big disappointment

A Tica is a what people in this region call a female Costa Rican such as the young lady pictured above and just FYI a Tico is a male Costa Rican.

I miss Cape Cod a little bit but not the cold winters.

wil.

Wil,

This isn't where I live, but I'm currently typing this while in Hyannis (down the street from the hospital). What part of the Cape were you in?
