Won my first TOTAL of the year yesterday with UNDER TENN/BALT. Going for .500 on the sides today.
Early in my betting career an old Vegas wiseguy told me, "Son you can't go wrong in the NFL if you look to pick a team that scores more points and gives up less points than their opponent." That advice has served me well through out my betting career. The Packers fit that description today. Add to it that there is something mystical going on with the death of Favre's father and you are looking at one hot team. I'm not stepping in front of this runaway train.I'll jump on it instead. One concern is that 7' that you have to lay. Luckily we live in this day and age were buying points is common place. You can buy off that 7' to 7-110 at Pinnacle as I type this. There are also plenty of 7s at other shops.
I looked to see how the spread affected these two teams in the 32 games played this season. The spread only came into play twice out of the 32 games played and both games involved the Seahawks. In the first game, Seattle was a dog in Baltimore by 3 and lost the game 41-43 a tie and the spread mattered. In the second game, Seattle was again dog in StLou this time by 7. They lost the game 22-27 but won the money as the spread mattered. None of GreenBay's games were affected by the spread.GB either won and covered or lost. The pointspread never came into play. Big Lou has written extensively about the spread not coming into play in the playoffs, I just wanted to apply it to this game.
