You claim you know why people act a certain way, then proceed to ask why do they act in that way.

Sorry if I wasnt clear.

Thats my "theory" for most that act this way. I was wanting some validation to that theory.

Was looking for someone to give me a legit reason to view me as a "negative" to society.

Still waiting....

Do you honestly find it that difficult to imagine the possibility that someone at a much higher level of enlightenment might be able to alter what most of us perceive as physical laws of the universe?
If they said it, it must have happened. Many may not know that we have a modern day messiah of our own. I saw it on television so it must be true. Behold the Jesus shot.

Am I the only one here who thinks you just make this stuff up?

I live in the Deep South Bible Belt and in past 30 years of living in my own home encounter maybe three or four knocks on the door per year from any form of Christian outreach. And those have been 100% limited to Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.

If you don't want people knocking on your door, buy a $5 sign to place beneath your doorbell advising religious folks to not bother you. You'll never be bothered again.

I too believe that GTC08 is a liar.

I am almost 45 years old, and I have never had an
evangelical Christian cold-call me, or knock on my door.

I am proud to be an evangelical Christian, and have been active in the
church for most of my life, and I have never been involved with, nor
have heard of anyone that was involved with cold-calling people,
or evangelizing by knocking on people's doors.

Posted this about 20 minutes ago...

"There is nothing to know. I, nor have anyone I have known my entire life (God believing or not), have ever been called on the phone in an effort to convert.

A knock on the door? Thats a different story. These "Jehovah's Witnesses" just wont give up.... "<!-- / message -->

Come on now. I think you've read enough of my contributions past couple years to know I'm not a kneejerk Fundy Christian.

I'm merely posing the possibility that someone "walking on water" should not neccesarily be dismissed if one - like me - believes that higher levels of spiritual enlightenment could permit someone to do things that others of us might not fully be able to explain.

About a half dozen times a year, both in DFW and here in Florida I'll receive some kind of simple door flyer from a local Christian church inviting me to attend and check them out. But that's as easy to ignore as the local restaurant coupons where I don't eat.

Then again, maybe the water was only an inch deep.

Youre a liar GTC, or delusional

he's just not very smart there Romo

he can't grasp the idea of using their vs there vs they're so i wouldn't worry too much about his lack of knowledge of religions.

he knows very little about even less and gives most folks in here, like myself, great joy in having paid attention in class

The Goldwater Avatar is money.

The HS named after him is 10 miles down the road from me.

You won't get an answer coach.

The God haters, or Christian haters, or religion haters are cowards and bigots. They have no rational answer for their bigotry.

I've asked this very same question here before (I think verbatim) and gotten the same response of silence.

Hate is often irrational. Those who harbor it are often irrational as well.

I figured as much, but I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone wanted to step up to the plate.

No takers thus far.

How about a flood covering the entire earth?

Well we each draw our own personal boundaries of belief

To accept the fable of the Great Flood as described in Genesis, one must accept a God that is willing to murder every man, woman and child on the planet (save for a lucky eight).

That's one I won't subscribe to. Your own mileage may vary.

We will all die.

Do we all know God's true intentions?

I give my dog his shots as need be. He gives out a yelp and looks at me like, "you bastard. that hurt".

It was for his own good though. As much smarter than I am to my dog, God is that much smarter than I. And then some....

We will never truly understand the intentions. Wasting your time trying to is a waste of time.

Brother, if your perception of God is one who will wantonly murder every man, woman and child on the planet - don't let me get in the way of your belief.

Barman,

You choose to believe your own fable, that ultimately every man that ever lived eventually is justified and forgiven before God.

This belief system has it's own problems. It says that God is not
holy, and God is not just.

* My perception is that God = Love

A loving God does not murder

* Not sure what your intended analogy is with the dog story, though I'm pretty sure you would not take your dog into the bathtub and hold his head under the water until he drowned.

A just God isn't a big Santa Claus in the sky who coddles pedophiles, rapists and murderers.
