I mean we can do it. Doctors(radiologist), lawyers, accountants ship in cheap nurses from India. Almost all of these jobs can be done from India, these Indians are sharp people. Do NOT underestimate this group. The direction of this country is pointing towards this. Can this country survive on retail jobs ?

I have a better idea. Outsource the people in this country who have no desire to work. Dreamers but not doers. People who think their worth more than they are.

One important thing to remember though - India wouldn't want these people either. Cradle to grave care by the taxpayers of this country is what they think their entitled to. Bunch of dreamers.

jointpleasure I'm an electrician in Boston. My union rate pays 40 bucks an hour. If Dubya wants me to go work for 20 he can go fukk himself, I'll stay home on unemployment.

That a boy slurpee. A true blue union man you are. Ever think of maybe starting your own business and if your any good - you may just do better than 40/hour? Of course you've thought about it but that's my point, you wouldn't do it. Dreamers not doers.

America will not outsource the aforementioned jobs you are mistaken. Unless something takes place that stops the gutting of America we will be a nation of reatil jobs and the debt will grow. I have faith that the people doing this will be identified through the election process. They will be removed! I just hope it is not to late.

Funny they all had money to burn and were all working 2500+ hours a year during the Clinton years....

Construction is one industry you can't outsource......we always know before anyone else when the economy is picking up and trust me it's not.....before, if you were willing to travel ac**** the country, there was always work somewhere......even during the Reagan years...not now though.

Let me put it to you this way.....I make 3k a week when I'm working buddy......so now that theres not work, only non union work, do you think it's worth my while to go to work for $20/hour?? No, I'll sit on my ass and post in a gambling forum for 600 bucks a week, which is what the government pays me to do.

Problem is that wage deflation will be seen in the construction area. If they are hiring then all these displaced workers from this outsourcing nonsense will be flooding this employment market

Until these outsourcing avocates jobs are taken they will continue to run there mouth off

Codeworks,

I have no problem with a radiologist reading the x-ray in India. If he can do it for 30 bucks rather than 300 hundred bucks that's even better! No problem getting prescription drugs from Mexico or Canada if I can get them for 20 dollars rather than 80 dollars. No problem also if a lawyer wants to handle my case in India if he will take 100 dollars for it, rather than 5000 dollars. Global competition is OK by me as long as they are as competent or more competent than the doctors and lawyers here in America.

Sounds like a good way to drive down health care prices and lawyer fees to me!

Ok then lets outsource all of America.

Its alot cheaper right.

The problem is nobody will have any money to purchase big ticket items because there will be no work for the middle class. You are taking money out of the tax revenue system and at the rate we spend money this country will slip into times we have never seen since the depression years.

codeworks,

Why would you want to outsource ALL of America. I never realized that doctors and lawyers were ALL of America.

As the song goes, Momma don't let your kids to grow up to be cowboys, let them be doctors and lawyers and such... Stupid song as there is nothing wrong with being a cowboy!

This problem could have been prevented. In most countries around the world you have junior and highschool students worrying about the IMF,BID, or what Free Trade Agreement will have ramifications in their country. Back in the early 90s, nobody paid attention or better yet cared of what was going on.

Not only that, but most highschool students do not have clue of what the IMF, BID, or Free Trade Pacts have or will have an effect on their future. Nevertheless, the media is also to blame because only recently they are publishing stories about Free Trade and outsourcing.

Mass Mil,

If manufacturing is your baby, then start your own manufacturing company. Otherwise, maybe, just maybe, change your field. Advances occur in the world now at lighting speed, what was once popular, may no longer be so. Adapting to changes is crucial. Heck, I know people who don't even know what a hard drive is.
