Rail was an arrogant prick to me a long time ago when I first started posting at MW. I had a huge play on MIA over FLA ST and said they would win by 3 TDs in Talla. He went on a tirade about us being squares and how we helped fund his leather jacket fetish and wheatgrass this and that etc. MIA won by 19 or 20. One of my next big plays was against Flutie and the Chargers who he had pegged going to the Superbowl in week 3. Same BS, how all the squares couldnt see how SD was the next coming. I got so fed up with it that I quit posting there after only a few weeks, even though several people apologized for his assinine behavior towards me.
It was so long ago that I dont really hold it against him. But he acts like such a jackass how can people resist taking shots at him. If half of what he says is true (it's not) about his black book and phone bill etc. then there would be a LOT of pissed off people out there for him going public. My own FAMILY doesnt know exactly what I do, I am positive that the public figures that he mentions DO NOT want to be mentioned as being associated with sports gambling- my favorite was him listing one of the Duck's coaches personal phone numbers!! (yeah, sure) This type of behavior is just bad for the industry as a whole- they keep trying to pass laws prohibiting it for US citizens, and if this type of stuff were to make it to a politico's desk...it just adds fuel to the fire.
Rail just insults to many people, both directly and indirectly. The direct insults are obvious. The indirect insults are numerous. If someone were to follow his tennis action: 1. Most of the lines he posts are unavailable, except to him?? He never even says where the line comes from. I get on Panther a lot for this. 2. He past posts. "How about that underdog, I had my play of the year against him yesterday and it lost. But I triple banged against him today" (now that he erroneously thinks that it won even though there was no action). A serious tennis player would KNOW the status of a match, you would think. It's hard to respect and take someone seriously with this on-going behavior.
I'm convinced that Rail and JJ want to cause strife, they like the negative attention that they get. A lot of what they do is calculated. I just dont like the way they carry themselves a lot of the time. I actually harbor some of the same beliefs that Rail does. But I dont try to cram it down people's throats or aggravate people. I am religious, I am a firm believer in the benefits of barleygreen (wheat juice) as my mother overcame brain cancer with it's restorative properties. But I dont argue these things with people who dont see it the same way- this for me is a sports information site. For many, Rail provides a much needed source of entertainment. One of the main reasons that he and JJ are picked on so much is because they spend so much time trying to convince the world that no one can beat the oddsmaker except for themselves b/c they are privy to info everyone else would trade their last dollar for. Whatever.
