But it's 2018. If analytics say it's beneficial in the long run for players to rest, then that's what will happen.
In 1995 you didn't see the huge shifts as part of normal baseball, but now you do. Because the analytics say to do so.

One could debate that...if you want to rest him just have him stay home and rest...Of course in the NBA he would never go into the game even in an emergency situation unlike other sports. I know one could point out he could help coach the players...but in my opinion each team has enough people with the label of coach as is...(this is just about a generic player...now if you want to talk if jimmy butler himself is a good teammate...that's a different debate)
