just looking at the electoral map. i see obama carrying all the same states kerry did, and flipping iowa easily to get to 259.

9 battleground states that can go either way, no way mccain can hold all of them. colorado, new mexico, nevada, ohio, florida, virginia, north carolina, indiana, missouri.

prolem with mccain is he's not doing a nationwide campaign like obama. he's leaving states like montana, south dakota, north dakota, indiana, and expecting them to go red, even with polls showing those states are close(whether you believe the poll or not is up to you).

9 battleground states, over 100 ev's up for grabs, in states slightly leaning one way or the other, and you think he can't get a combo of 11 ev's from that group?

i already think he'll win colorado and new mexico which alone would put him over.

this is the easy way of looking at it. follow michigan closely. thats the best chance mccain has at flipping a state and you'll see him there alot. obama was just there yesterday as well. if mccain wins michigan, lets play. if obama carries michigan which i think he probably will, game over.

if you break down those 9 states, this is what i think.

so i got colorado(9) new mexico(5), nevada (5)
ohio, virginia, indiana, obama will take 1 of those 3. i got obama winning 4 of the 9 at the minimum.

colorado: obama
new mexico: obama
nevada: obama
ohio no idea
florida: mccain
virginia: no idea
nc: mccain
indiana: no idea, bayh i think brings in this state since mccain is going to ignore it
missouri: mccain

like i said if mccain can win michigan, lets play lets play, he has to make sure obama doesnt win ohio though either or he has no chance.

comes down to this for mccain. win michigan, win ohio, win 2 out of 3(virginia, indiana, ohio) and you are president.

lose michigan, done. lose ohio, done. lose 2 out of those 3, done.

the numbers i gave you dont suggest a close race, they suggest a 55/45 type race.

1) nothing here substantiates your 55/45 claim

2) what data source are you using to determine the state by state results?

Most people now are taking off the blindfolds and are finally seeing what Obama is all about.

Obama is the most hilarious candidate since Pat Paulson of the Smother's brothers ran in 1968 and Paulson was trying to be funny. Obama is just feeble, flawed & frail!

Were these the same blindfolds that people had on when they went into the voting booths and elected Bush to a second term?
