I honestly believe that as long as Hilary Clinton is a "woman running for president," and Colin Powell a "black man running for president," etc. that none of the above will be elected.
It is an odd perversion of equality that many people feel that the fact of being a woman, or black, or Jewish, or of any other minority, is in and of itself a qualification (or disqualification) of ability. While it is undeniable that certain experiences unique to being a minority will help shape viewpoints and therefore actions in a person, it is nothing but a simple fact of biology that a person belongs to a given sex or race. And for as long as we have even a sizable minority -- say, 30% or more -- of people who erroneously believe that race, sex, etc. somehow figures into a candidate's qualifications, we will never have a minority president.
And mind you, I'm not just talking about discrimination against these people, I'm also talking about discrimination in favour of them, as can be seen with most feminism, the NCAAP, the ADL, affirmative action policies, etc. These institutions are as harmful to minorities in America as any "Jim Crow" law ever hoped to be. Even Ayn Rand, a philosopher whose ideals more closely mirror my own than any other in history, openly stated that no woman was capable of leading a country, an idea which is simply foolish despite Rand's lifetime of otherwise admirable furthering of objective thought.
