I dunno if he will make it. Not really sure on that. Probably depends how the rest of his career goes and how many other guys from the era get in. Tough to say. He definitely isn't a lock or anything. Most people don't even consider him in the top 1/3rd of QBs in the league, how overrated can you really be if that is where people peg you.

Kurt Warner is getting in. Warner is a great guy, great story so people aren't going to spend the time analyzing and picking apart his career but it really isn't HOF worthy at all. He was let go for Mark Bulger 2 years after winning MVP. Then he had to take a gatekeeper job with the Giants until Eli was ready. Why didn't 20 teams want to make him their guy? Same for after Giants cut him...

whos move deserving of being in the HOF if you had to pick one Eli or Warner

Warner has a better resume, 2 time MVP to go with 1 SB win and 3 SBs played.

If the Giants cut Eli Manning to go with Mark Bulger, he wouldn't have to go somewhere else as a gatekeeper/backup though, I'll tell ya that much. Especially in 2004 when the league was hurting for QBs bigtime.

Joe Namath

I'm an Alabama fan and a Joe Namath fan but his knees made him above average...not great.

Aaron Rodgers.

He hasn't beaten a .500+ QB on the road in two years.

7 seasons as a starter and 1 SB appearance. Beaten badly in home playoff loses. Not the greatest playoff QB.

Namath. More career INT's than TD's, one upset victory, and the New York media equals overrated.

If this guy went to Pitt and then got drafted by Atlanta, nobody would know his name.

Agree VERY strongly with Namath. Even in the game his legacy is based on, because of his "guarantee", he was not nearly the MVP, it was Matt Snell. Joe was all image and cool. Great relaese, great arm, but highly overrated as a player.

And, conversely, if Bradshaw would have gone to Alabama and won 4 Super Bowls in New York, he would be running (unopposed) for his seventh term as POTUS right now.

Eli manning is considered an above avg QB his entire career. That is about what he is. Don't really see the overrated there.

Think of how hard up teams are for QBs and Warmer had to be the cardinals backup for 2/3 yrs

whats Eli's record vs Brady?

John Elway by far!

Sorry to burst this media sensations bubble but I just can't take everyone rating Elway as one of the greatest ever! Because of the great comebacks (which he put them in that predicament with his AWFUL play for 56 minutes) and the way he ended his career (probably on the most complete offence ever!) everyone thinks he's so great. Let's look and the numbers. First his drive. The drive would not have been necessary if he played better during the first 56 minutes, in which he had a QB rating of 50 with no tds and one pic completing less than 50% of his passes. Second when you compare him to his contemporaries, Montana, Marino, Young, Elway can't even hold their jockstraps! Elway had 8 1000 yard rushing seasons by a running back during his career but couldn't crack 80 (once) on the QB rating, until The Bronco were STACKED with talent. By comparison Montana had 4 1000 yard seasons Young 3 and Marino ONLY ONE!!! Yet these QBs stats destroyed Elway! Rings are a TEAM STAT not a player. Qbs don't play on defence or special teams. The 49ers had numerous seasons where their leading rusher did not even have 600 yards!!! Just because he was exciting to watch, big arm, risk taking does not make him great! Finally that Denver team was so stacked that even without Terrell Davis, Brian Griese led the league in passing and Jake Plummer made the pro bowl!!!! Everyone forgets how Elway played during the ENTIRE game in his famous comebacks, but only remember a small segment of the game. Good qb yes, one of the greatest ever...not even close!
