i watched john mackey play and i agree 100% with VD. he was virtually untackleable, could block,
go deep, and had great hands. before him tight ends were basically a 6th lineman who might
be used as safety valves or for short quick passes. mackey was such a threat that defenses had to change
their schemes in an attempt to contain him.
