Maybe you missed my post...UK had to score 40+ EVERY time they won last year except once. So explain to me how they are going to score 40 today without Woodson or Little or a more relevant receiver than Dickie Lyons? The improvement you are going to see today is from the Louisville defense...new coordinator and all they needed was an attitude adjustment, they just had a bunch of players who didn't give a shit last year. Cantwell over Hartline is a significant advantage.

They won't need to score 40 today.
Louisville's offense sucks.

This is not the same type of UK team.
Last year, we scored a lot because we handed it to Woodson so he could toss it around a lot.

This year, we are giving the ball to Dixon, Locke and Smith and controlling the tempo.

You keep bringing up Cantwell, but the rest of louisville sucks.
1 Player can't make a difference. Louisville players still don't give a shit.
I know a few and they hate Kragthorpe. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave in this year so they could get rid of Krag next year.

We could argue all day, but the real point is this:

Anything can happen in a rivalry game, but you can't argue that Louisville has more talent then UK. We have more coming back.

The main advantage today is not Cantwell. Is it that the game is in Louisville. If this was in Lexington, this wouldn't even be an argument.

Huntel Cantwell, more experience.

Both defenses suck but if you had to call any of Louie's defense their strength, it would be their front 4. So they might actually slow down the UK running game, they probably can't throw on them.

On the Cardinals and think they roll by 17.

The only reason Kentucky won so many games last year is because Andre Woodson allowed them to score 40 points while the defense was giving up 38. Without Woodson it is going to be nessecary for this defense to make some big stops which I don't think they are capable of making.

Louisville at home for me.

I still dont see how anyone can make a good decision on this game. There are just too many unknowns. Obviously, someone will win their bet, but that doesn't mean they were smart in their play.

There are unknowns in every game in week 1. People can make just as good of a decision in this game that they have in others.

I dont agree with this at all. Many teams return the following year fairly intact or with new players that have some playing history. With these two teams you have massive player losses (critical players at that), coaching changes, suspension/expulsions, general poor unit play from the previous year that either will be better or wont be better (no way to know until you actually see it), and more. One often has the ability to make an educated guess and I just dont think its there with these guys.

I was on Kentucky and I know it's easy to say now but Kentucky's defense is much improved. They actually have 8 returning starters from last year's defense and as many as 6 of them potentially have a chance to play in the NFL. Their defensive line is very good. I think these are two programs going in different directions. Louisville has been a mess since Petrino left due to attrition or whatever the reasons. Kentucky has been a work in progress and Rich Brooks has actually done a fine job. Considering that Kentucky is off of back to back 8 win seasons and bowl victories and Louisville regressing like they have is the reason I was on Kentucky.
