The early reviews seem to be positive. This morning I read the review in the Wall Street Journal by Walt Mossberg. Also saw about 8 other reviews. All in all, pretty positive.

What is the advantage to owning one? Who is their target market?

The target market is probably somebody who wants web surfing, email, social networking, video, photo viewing, gaming and music.

Also, Apple is ironing out deals with all the big tv stations.

They look pretty cool for limited uses (doctors office, airport). But no flash or USB are negatives. In addition, typing would seem difficult.
Unfortunately it looks like the ipad will be the final nail in feminizing men: the murse/ipad carrier.

@)....I was thinking about it, but after the initial Iphone launch I decided I will wait until at least a month or two after they are out on the market so whatever issues are there are worked out.

I'm ok with no USB. Flash will probably be put in with a future software upgrade.

All pre orders have been sold out at Apple. I'm sure people will be camping out the night before at Best Buy to get one.

I'm thinking about one. Just want to wait and see first.

500 bucks, then another 130 for some kind of network adapter.

No thanks, a good pc or laptop can be bought with that coin.

Yup. Apple makes their coin by making pretty looking products and charging a fortune for them.

buster, you are overestimating how savy a person is at the internet. Most people still don't even know what a torrent is let alone a stream.
