People are betting COL because of the day of the week and the geography of the game...Put them in say Texas on a Tuesday and WVU wins 9/10 of these games by two touchdowns +. Colorado does not have NEAR the athletes on defense to keep with WVU offense. This line is a joke. There are 5 better home dogs on Saturday including Auburn and Tennessee. With those two at least you are getting home teams that will play defense and a crowd that will rival Gladiator Days

You start using comparative scores handicapping college football and your in big trouble. Another thing you see Miami U down you will see Cent Fla up. You see Syracuse down you will see Buffalo up. You see Wazzu down you will see E Wash up.

Smart people told me WestVirgina was waay dwon this yr before season started. Boulder is a tough out for last 30 years. 3.5 on top of that with a coach getting his players in now.

You still haven't answered who is going to fucking stop Devine and Patty White in space. Colorado is not a fast team!!!!!

All I know is that one of the Eastern Washington players said after the game that playing Colorado was like playing a Big Sky team (this is quoted in print too), and they don't know how they are going to even hold up in the Big 12 this year if they play like they did last week.

Enough said there.

I'm usually on the same page as you with teams for some reason but I think you're underrating Colo here...they were a pretty solid team last year (better than their record, they played a very difficult schedule). Speed on defense is a problem for Colorado but I don't know how West Va will be able to stop the buffs much either. They dominated Colo St and they should not have ever really been getting beat by EWU, they were far superior... Day and place don't hurt though...

I've seen a lot of talk here about White and Devine .... after tonight they will be talking about Darrell Scott as one of the reasons Colorado handled the Mountaineers. Number one recruited high school back in the country and not a mention by anyone. Hawkins has handled him smartly so far and tonight will be his coming out party. This is Hawkin's third year and just like he did at Boise St. he will make Colorado a solid program again. Bottomline, is that they did not play well vs. Eastern Washington but did find a way to win. W. Virginia is almost as overrated as Rutgers and they didn't find a way to win at E. Carolina and looked bad doing it. White is not a great passer and Buffs will load up vs. the run. With Bill Stewart they have changed their offensive philosophy and so far it is not particularly successful unless you consider Villanova as being a true test. Defensively, in the first two games they have given up 15 first downs out of 30 plays on third down. ECU completed 22 of 28 passes to mostly wide open receivers. Don't underestimate the importance of coaching changes even if they are 'inhouse'. Coaches have egos and like to think that they can change what has been successful in the past. They have gone from a run oriented team, Slayton & White, to a team that is now thinking too much about the pass. Buffs win outright and WVU goes home 1-2.

The more I look, the less I want to make a play. If it wasn't for Thursday night, I probably wouldn't touch it. I like to think that WVU will have no problems running allover Colorado. Then again, Colorado sees a lot of spread offenses in their division. Can anyone provide insight on the speed of the Colorado defense?

This is a game that I think will be defining for both teams. Right now I'm leaning small on WVU, but the public agrees with me and that scares me.

Perhaps, someone could submit an article about what the ECU players were saying after they defeated WVU. These are 18 to 20 year old kids who often don't think before they speak and especially so after an emotional loss. Not even bulletin board stuff.

a Big 12 Officiating crew

What officials are officiating this game ?

a Big 12 Officiating crew who has no idea how to make a signal for a touchdown. It's more like....their signal for a touchdown is the finger.

:finger: Touchdown!!! GL

Here's some information I read on the Service Play thread that I thought was interesting:

1. Colorado- First things first, this is NOT the 2007 version of the Mountaineers, as two things have become painfully clear with this new-look Bill Stewart led WVU squad: A. Pat White desperately misses playmakers RB Steve Slaton and WR Darius Reynaud, as their offense has struggled to get it done despite returning most everyone else from last years high-powered attack. And B. Bill Stewart's insistence on switching to a more pass-based pro-style attack has not gone over smoothly, as was clearly demonstrated by their 24-3 blowout loss at Eastern Carolina.

What's more is coach Stewart was quoted as saying he's going to back to the running attack in this contest, after Pat White tossed 51 passes in the first two games. Herein lies the problem, as the Buffaloes defense is especially stout against the run, and if Stewart stays true to his word (which I expect), they'll be playing right into the strength of this Colorado defense, allowing just 59 rushing yards per game thus far.

For all you West Virginia-backers out there, I got one question for you: How in the hell is a young and vulnerable WVU secondary going to stop Cody Hawkins and this high-powered Buffaloes passing attack?! Remember this stat: Opposing QBs are 43 of 55 for 502 yards against this Moutaineers defense thus far this season. That's right, two games and already the WVU secondary is getting exposed! More of the same tonight, as Hawkins puts on a clinic at home. Not to mention, when Hawkins isn't slinging the ball, star frosh RB Darrell Scott is just as dangerous as Noel Devine, if not more!

Finally, you have to believe the Buffaloes and their fans will be fired up in this national TV appearance. Look for a lot of energy coming from Colorado early and often in this one. Not to mention, the Buffaloes are also on a 5-0 run ATS in 2nd of back-to-back home games, which should tell you a little something about home field advantage. In the end, coach Stewart flip-flopping between pass-based and run-based attacks is a BAD sign, as his offense flounders in the confusion. Do not sleep on this Colorado team, especially at home, against a soft-ass WVU secondary. Buffaloes roll!

Take Colorado plus the points over West Virginia as your top-rated play of the day.

I keep reading in this thread how fast WV is and how is Colorado going to stop them and I have to ask....if they are that fast and so great.....why isn't Colorado getting more points? The linesmakers in Vegas are not stupid and they see this as being a close game and IMO I think it will be close and go over the total. Right now I lean with Colorado and the points and BOL to on whoever you take.

Because as of right now some books are at 60% Colorado, some 60% WVU. It's a weird game that really depends on the the players. If they make this line CU +7 it gets HAMMERED. They just want the 50/50 action. So they put out CU+4 which got bet down to WVU -3 so by game time action will probably 55/45 or something like that.

When I looked at different sites, they showed the line starting at +3 1/2 for CU and most sites I look at show +3 for CU so it doesn't look like there has been much line movement from what I can see. If the WV team was that much better than CU, I would have expected CU to catch more points. In another CU thread I found this information posted. Not sure where it comes from but looks like a lot of people going with WV. GL with your WV bet but IMO this game will be much closer than you think.

This is a joke right??? Colorado has done nothing this year and has done nothing in many years. They will not contain UWV.. Colorado is not better than ECU either. They would get killed by them. W. Viriginia wins this game by at least 10...

LOL... beating OU last year... nothing

How come no one is talking about the fact that this game is being played up here at 5400' ?

Because it isn't as much of a factor as people make it out to be.

The Cowboys play at 7000FT and they still suck. West Viriginia will use their spread to the outside and I expect at least 3 runs in the this game of at least 25 yards from WVU.

While WVU stuggled with ECU, what did CU do with EWU? Colorado still has a long a way to go. This game will be controlled by WVU's offensive line.

EWU is NOT a bad team. Their passing attack is ferocious. They held their own against TTU as well.
