I know there are legitimate paid handicapping services out there, who uses a service and is pleased with the results?

And please no Stu Feiner, Jack Price, Kevin Duffy types

If you knew you could find a paid service that won would you pay them a 100-200 a month?

All stories good or bad......

I always thought that handicappers don't work.

I never tried one myself, but if they "know" the winners instead of selling them they should bet on those picks.

What you guys think about this?

Thanks

I do my own handicapping except when it comes to the NBA playoffs. I don't have my db finished for that, yet.

I have used one guy for the NBA playoffs for the past eight seasons. He won every year for me but two seasons. In those two seasons, I lost 14.7% and 11.2% of my bankroll. The other six winning seasons averaged out around 20% per season. Add it up and it adds up to just short of 100% return over 8 seasons.

Yes, there were costs involved but I would split those with friends so the costs were minimal, at best.

Just like no service is probably going to win in every sport, we as handicappers, are probably not good enough to win in every sport, either. So, when I can't handicap a sport well enough, I look elsewhere. But, you have to do your homework.

I now have enough information, have learned plenty from this guy and my db will be done before next year so I can do this on my own, going forward.

There are good and bad doctors, lawyers, plumbers and touts. You wouldn't use any of the first three without checking out references, etc. and you shouldn't use the fourth without doing so either.

I can say without question that Ben Burns is solid, honest and worth the money. I have given out numerous packages of his on my site for contests and what not and many of the people ended up staying on with him as a paying customer.

He doesn't spam, doesn't tout the boards and has a legitimate record that is kept at Big Guy. #1 all time I think in Hockey and Football there.

There are good and bad just like with every other business. You just have to do your homework and know who is feeding you crap and who is actually what they are selling themselves as.

It was 1993 or 1994 when natonal lottery corporation started to offer sports betting, well three team parlays, if you can call that betting. Anyway it was almost only possibility for me to make bets. I had heard about betting companies in UK, but you had to call to place bets and my English is too lousy to do that.

Almost immediately touts started to offer their
services and after a while I saw their Big win-ads and I decided to call. I needed the money and I needed a lot of money.

I used two companies and I was satisfied with their results. That time there were no odds comparison sites and it wasn't as easy to get info on games as it is nowdays. Both of those services had contacts to Finnish teams and abroad and national lottery guys were just learnig this business. Even players had to make three team parlays, we sometimes had an edge against lottery guys.

Well, I was betting with a small bankroll and thats why I never had a chance to win those big sums, but those recordins included also information about how to bet and other betting stuff. That time I was satisfied customer, win something and learned a lot.

After couple of years lottery guys learned their jobs, I had a internet and had books about betting and after that I haven't made a call. Both of the services have gone downhill year after year, but there are still people using their "help".

I don't have nothing agaist good touts. If you are damn good capper you can make some extra money just selling your knowledge. There's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately only few of them are succesful bettors and which one? I don't know.

I've only talked to one handicapper about this, but generally it seems that they want to avoid the "swings" you experience with betting. When you have a family to feed and a mortgage to pay, you can't survive on a bad season. Some of these guys do play their picks, but it's too risky for them to count on that as their only income. Much nicer to have a steady stream of paying customers to keep you going throughout the year. Even if you are hitting 55% winners, you're still going to have 0-10 losing weeks, and then how do you put food on the table?

I wrote an article about this for Casino Times News a few months back.

Of the folks I talked to it basically came down to supply and demand. Their skills lie within the gambling realm, not engineering or manufacturing. Due to that, being a "professional" handicapper so to speak allows them to be a business owner utilizing their particular skill set.

Keep in mind these are the serious guys like Ben Burns for example. The "scamdicappers" are nothing more then telemarketers that use the mis-fortune of gambling addicts to lace their own pockets.

The really, really good, true guys are the ones that are 90% Handicapping and 10% Marketing, not the other way around. If you get more spam and cold calls then winners that is a pretty good indication you chose poorly.

I've been tracking Internet Sports Explorers. They post in the Site Promotion Section every now and then. But very good. A bit expensive tho.

I will try them out. Just a matter of the right promotion from them.

They have Ariz. tonite...in their 'free picks section.'

I have used Davler Sports for 3 years. Very satisfied. He is a trend guy. The pick is a go only if you get it for a certain price or better. The win% on his site is 100% accurate because I have kept track.

Got screwed jewed and tattooed a couple years back with Jimmy Spatz (sp?), those bitches wanted more money after EVERY winning weekend (both of em), and when they lost, it just meant a 50* the next week.

Have done well with some smaller ones.
Kiki Sports was lights out for football, I got them for the season and will do so again this year.

Alatex was OK for hoops, can't complain, they made money over the long haul. Played on and off with THE ANIMAL--he was OK...

I just deal with the guys online now, none that I see on TV....

Touts all blow period!! They are all crocked.
Anyone that can't pick there own plays and be confident with those picks should take up knitting. Just my opinion but I hate them all.
