I am glad to live in America, though I have littleor no expierince with foreign countries.
I will say this: America is ideally a great place because we are supposed to have a voice on the way it is run.
I hate when people say "Love it or leave it".
The whole basis for our country, our constitution is that we are able to speak out against leadership that wants to inhibit our freedom.
THe more approriate saying would be
" Love it or change it" or perhaps even better...Love it, but never stop trying to improve it"
That is why I get upset when people say I am not supportive of AMerica because I detest our current leader. IF I didnt love america, Iw ouldnt spend a great deal of time and effort trying to make sure it sticks to its one main staple...freedom. Right now, I feel freedom is being sacrifed for an effort to increase security. I feel this goes againt the basis for america.
I guess what I am trying to say is that feeling frustrated and complaining about things we do (be it a war, a bill, a shitty bi-partisan cycle that infringes on progress and independent thought)does not makie you an ungrateful american..it makes you a passionate one. Apathy is our worst enemy.
