Best Advise I have heard in a long time, I worked at Best Buy while I was in College and the service plans or extended warranty is the biggest rip off there is. They have over 80% profit in them.

I always decide to buy or not buy that extended warranty thing based on the % of the item that it costs.
If i buy a $1200 computer and the warranty thing is 200 or less for 3 years i may think about it

the only case I would recommend that would be if you are completely computer illiterate and have an unlimited supply of money.

if you are willing to fill out the rebates then use Bestbuy because you can always ge tit fixed and you will get back a lot of money with the rebates, and you can buy HP. VPR, Sony and other name brands
