Where do you guys invest?

Looking for a good book....errr, i mean financial investing site for these stock transactions. wanna get started on this as a newbie

I'm not even sure what I should be looking for? I am only planning to invest a small amount $500-$2000 and see how it goes from there. I know some places charge a % and some have flat rates and some charge on their own methods.

Any ideas what would be good for me?

way better deals than etrade, schwab, td, etc.

are they reliable? it there something i'm not getting here?
