After reading this thread, I went over to Rivals to check out Florida's recruiting of quarterbacks. Right now they have a 4star and a 2star commitment. The 4star mentioned above is questionable with Miles staying at LSU.

Florida has 18 3star commitments...I was shocked by that number. Compare that to FSU who has 5 3star.

they just got a commit from Feliepe Franks...one of top QB in nation and could be in line for Jacob Eason who has a great relationship with Nussmeier and consensus #1 qb in nation.

yesterday they got commit from maybe #1 juco WR in country, Dre Massey

plus they are probably now ahead of Tide in recruit of 5-star Mack Wilson (#1 LB in nation?) who announces on Friday and looks like he is going to get our kicker (#1 kicker in nation), Eddy Pineiro, to flip

IMO coach Mac is doing an insane job...should be coach of the year and his recruiting for 2016 has a lot of steam. Will certainly end in top 10 and maybe in top 5

assuming UGA lose some guys they will be way ahead of any other SEC East in recruiting this year

McElwain has to be a lock for SEC Coach of the Year.

He will also get a lot of support for National honors.

Florida's early recruiting this year was a little desperate. Decent players, but not many great ones (4*, 5*)....but two of them have been elevated to 4*. The early recruiting was filling needs. Now they're getting some quality players. The qb flip is the biggest star so far. There's 3 or 4 5* recruits that have UF in their top 2 or 3....so the class will finish strong and likely be a top 5, but mostly due to the numbers (expecting 28-32 in the class with at least 6 early enrollees).

McElwain will be SEC COY no doubt....not sure if he wins the national award. Fuente, Herman, and Ferentz would be more deserving.

UF has no QB.

Just thinking out loud. What if Jeff Driskel hadn't transferred to Louisiana Tech? (255 of 412 for 3575 yards, 24 TDs, 8 INTs this season) or Jacoby Brissett hadn't transferred to North Carolina State. (225 of 367 for 2448 yards with 19 TDs and just 4 INTs). I'm guessing coach Mac could have used one of them this year.

Oh well........................

Yep....good to see the East coming back to life. Should make for some good football in the upcoming years. Just hope UGA don't botch the hire. They Are in the catbirds seat.

Yeah Al, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia should battle it out next year. All three should be pretty good.

Tennessee is a team to keep an eye on during 2016. The Vols 4 losses came by a combined total of
17 points. Three of the four teams that beat Tennessee won 10 games this season and a lot of those
same players will be back.

Looks like Florida made a great hire with McElwain, I kind of figured he would be good after the turn around he directed at Colorado State. He will bring top notch QB and WR talent to Gainesville no doubt. Although Bama should win this next one rather easily, we will probably see this matchup again in years to come

McElwain is kind of a free spirit. He jumped right in to the Florida job like he belonged.

The man earned a lot of respect when he "undressed" Taylor for showboating during a game.
He certainly got the team's attention.

McElwain has been a pleasure, especially after Muschamp.

I will say, the jury is still out on him. I think he'll be very good.....but even Muschamp had an 11-1 season.

Once he gets a real QB and an SEC O-line we'll see what he can do.

I agree that Tennessee will be good next year....if Jones quits making bone headed coaching decisions.

McElwain will have a huge recruiting advantage demographically if he just stays in-state (Florida) which has a population of more than (20) million people with so many successful high school programs within....Just ask Urban Meyer after he arrived from Utah (population) just under (3) million. More comparisons: Tennessee, (6.5) million, Alabama, (5) million, Mississippi, (3) million, Georgia (10) million etc. There is enough talent in-state for Florida to share with Miami and FSU who will often plunder "lower" Alabama & Georgia many times based on geography alone. The Meyer departure set the Gator program back and out of contention in the SEC east 4 to 5 years...If McElwain can recruit the home town boys Florida will be perennial contender every year (Note: I said "contender" not champions...We are talking about the SEC...no easy picking for wins in that Conference.

Mack, you are singing the right song.

California, Texas and Florida make up 40% of the top division I players, every year.
