Good question.

I started going to VEGAS in 1981 and have had the bug ever since.

Met a CS manager of a book in CR on a Surf Trip, then dated her. I disliked sportsbetting and the industry at first. But eventually because of my passion for sports it grew on me (After the break-up of the girl). Now I love it. I don't gamble much and when I do it is at casinos... just like to call plays, games, scores, etc with no money involved. Very fun indeed.

I started wagering because of two things....I wanted to be a pro-athlete and couldn't and I like being right and being smarter than the average joe.

I found out that much of my emotion that went into the wagering was off-track and now I am much better at it. I started with a local book on credit and now have a decent bankroll at a couple of shops and even still play with that local book.

I have become much better at this than I was ten years ago. I lost a lot of money the first few years but now am consistantly in the black. tulsadizzle

I started when I was just a wee little kid, and I haven't stopped since...about 14 years now. I don't go overboard or think that this is going to get me to the point where I can buy my own yacht...I simply do it to pay a few bills every month.

I didn't gamble or make any sort of wager until 5 years ago when I was 31. Went to Vegas with a friend and put $50 on the Lakers vs. T-wolves while walking around the MGM. Winner!
The worst part was winning $200 playing craps.

A few months later I opened my first offshore account at the old BOS.

If I only knew then what I know now. Oh well, like they say live and learn.
