When you add someone to your buddy list, what does that actually do?

Thanks, Hal

How about a follow up question? If a newbie posts a question in the newbie forum, who is suppose to answer it?

from what i can tell...

if your involved in a big board that has well over 100,000 members (there are a few out there)....then a buddy list would be good for private messaging (which is currently disabled on this site)...so when you login into the board, you can go to your buddy list and see who is and who isnt online (or active with the board at the current moment)...that way, knowing that person is looking at the board and is active...you could send a PM

here's a good example of the buddy list...

everybody knows eBaums world - or should know...

well his message board is full of teenage retards and he turned off the search option that can only be used by premier memebers. Well if your trying to get someones attention...you just cant start a new thread cuz its gonna get buried in 3 pages within 30 minutes...so if you wanna talk to someone, you private message them. If your a regular poster - then you would have a buddy list of other regular posters that you would wanna talk to
