why does one always seem to have one pec smaller then the other? Was at the beach a few weeks ago and boy this guy looked like one side of his chest was deflated. Does it have to do with your shoulder coming into play on your strong arm? :muscles:

Some people naturally have a serious right or left hand bias like i do.. I wont even risk benching over 170 pounds using the normal bench and free standing weights. It has to be on a machine because my left hand is seriously weaker than my right... Hence the damn weights move all over the damn place... (by the way save me the "whack off" jokes i have heard enough already)

Some people might have had an injury or broke something that fostered this lack of balance...Me, i simply do too much with my right hand so much so that its much stronger. (but both are the same size)

Pimp to reduce the risk of being "lopsided" would dumbell chest press be best?

YOU asking the wrong person. I am no expert in this field. I dont use free weights that much. I stick to machines because they offer much better all round protection...

Some of the vets should be able to help you out with this.

To win Mr. Olympia you need to be nearly perfect with your muscle proportions. That means your left chest has to look exactly like the right... same for every muscle. What makes sense is to work out both muscles evenly. You shouldn't do 12 dumbell curls on your right arm and 10 on your left.

Also when you bench press your weaker arm slacks behind the stronger one. If you keep on repeating the press and don't extend your weaker arm just like the stronger arm.. then you might develop the lopsidednes.

It's quite clear you would not want to do more reps on one side then the other. Dumbell chest press should do the trick in shaping your chest to proportion. I've been working out for years on and off and I'm back trying to get in shape mainly to feel good and I am very strict in form meaning technique for proportions reasons. You see these guys that seem
very "lopsided"............your weaker side for chest does not underdevelop it's your stronger side.......is it the shoulder coming into play?

Never seen anyone with that kinda of problem before but yes you could try dumbell chest press but working out one hand at a time ...so you can put more weight on the weaker one....i tried that with even weight for a couple of months and i got great results... :suomi:
