some teams had their home opening day thursday, they have an off day today in case of a postponement so their opening day would be today

Yea they started every home opener the teams have the following day off so they can make up the home opener if needed. I had to research it as well the other day because i was confused by it

I thought the same thing this morning. I figured it was because the season just started and teams are playing wacky days.

I never factored in the "day off after opening day" just in case of weather problems

only in stadiums where they can't get rained out... do they not skip a day from 1st game to 2nd game

You are correct, those teams usually play the day after opening day also.

The Friday reschedule worked for St Louis and the White Sox, they were postponed yesterday.
