There are some sports I believe a female could coach either sex in.

Tennis....Golf... Bowling...Soccer, as examples.

But when it comes to sports which rely more on physicality & pure athleticism, like football & basketball, they simply can never ever comprehend it.

As BAS said, it's much more than x's & o's.

Lastly...even if....there might be a handful of females that could possibly be capable, there are hundreds or thousands more male coaches more worthy & deserving...

I actually know the girl that was the first ever nfl coach for the cardinals a couple years ago, Jen Welter. I'll bet money that she knows x's and o's better then anyone in this thread. It's ridiculous to think a women is incapable of coaching because she is a women. If you say playing then I'd agree with you. They just can't possibly be big/ strong enough to do anything on a NFL field besides maybe kick, but coaching is different.

So you take a Coach ( male ) that has been in Football all his life, and want to compare a Women Coach the same way ??
Coaching Football is more than just X's and O's

anyway I believe that because Men have a Head start in the sport, a Women is not Equal.

So you think no women have been involved in football their whole lives? Just because you don't play the sport, doesn't mean you can't understand the sport

I am not trying to troll, but why are the men more worthy and deserving?

The answer is honestly this...

Do her players respect her? That's it... all the other jokes and comments fall to the side.. does her team respect her.

That is the beginning and ending of the conversation..

Lol... I'm a hairdresser, lol.. and I can tell ya 1 thing. I'm great.. really great... soooo as the male/female career switch continues... that is the Only thing that matters.

So do you think they will respect her? If she's intelligent and knows what she's talking about, the players will listen to her and respect her. If they don't, its pretty pathetic to think they can't listen to someone just because of gender.

U hit it on the nose..
I played basketball (almost in college), and had amazing coaches... and pathetic coaches.. I gave em all a chance. These guys r PROS. My thot is they will give her a chance.

When your playing that level of a sport.. (everyone here has probably some sort of focus that I'm speaking too) the GAME is the Only thing on your mind at that MOMENT.. IF SHE CAN LASER in on those moments?? She may have a career...

I think it's ok that we all have different opinions.

If we didnt, the world would be a boring place.

I personally dont think the majority of players will respect her.

They would respect the advice, guidance, and opinions of their old high school coach before they will this woman.

Should the president of the United States take advice from a mayor with a city population of 327, just because that small town mayor has a little knowledge on politics?

If you dabble in a few stocks & have a little knowledge on how it all works, do you qualify in telling a wall street financial advisor how to do his job?

We all bet Sports on here.
Are we knowledgeable enough to tell Billy Walters what games to lay his money?

If you're Antonio Brown, do you think he wants to hear virtually anything from his male coaches, much less a female?

Some knowledge in something doesn't instantly make you an expert, worthy, or qualified in trying to tell someone else how to do their job who's been doing it all their life.

There are 2 types of knowledge/experience in anything

A. Learning from studying & observing

B. Learning from experience in the field

Obviously having both of the above makes you much Better at what you do.

With that being said, more & more coaches these days have playing experience.

What does that mean?

That they own the knowledge of BOTH learning curves.

So, please tell me, how on Earth this woman is more qualified for this position, than hundreds, or thousands of others, who, yes, are male because of the reasons explained above...

I can't imagine this scenario working out well. I don't think the players would have much respect for her. And if she is white, at least two guys would have slept with her before preseason is over.

So my wife just said something that makes sense.

That this is merely a PR stunt by the 49er's organization in hopes of moving forward & ppl forgetting about their linking to the whole Colin Kaepernick drama...
