I tend to read the comments before I download the file because there is usually a 15-year old on there alerting us in caps "OMGZ IT'S A VIRUS LOL"

Buy a membership to a premium newgroup provider.

I use easynews.com and have for 7 years, there are others that are good too.

Combine them with a site like newzbin and a program such as newsleecher you are gold.
