vegas isn't worth going to unless you can spend money imo b/c the cheap vegas isn't worth it

take that money down to new orleans and you'll be much better off.

Yeah, Vegas can be a pretty sad place to be if you are broke out there, but if you have never seen it and just want to have a weekend adventure exploring the place could be fun if you have the right mindset -or maybe Tanner has a separate budget for gambling and just wants to barely get by on the essentials and use his real bankroll for gaming

what he said.....all about the gambling my friend

Airfare is the killer...even going spirit airlines your looking at almost 75% of your $500 down the tubes.

Easily done, but wont be the best of accommodations or food.... Hopefully not a REAL 3-day weekend like 4th of July... be very hard to do it on a "REAL" 3day weekend.

Hotels:
Circus Circus
Wild Wild West
Hooters
Palace Station

Food:
Ellis Island ($7 prime rib dinner or $6 Steak and Eggs)
Silver Sevens (5.99 1/2pd Burger with ENDLESS fries)
Tony Romas on Fremont (9p-11p $12 Steak and Lobster with glass of wine)
Heart Attack Grill (1 free meal if you are over 350lbs)

Tons more, but it can be done... unless you are talking about a government holiday weekend... then the room rates will kill you.

No disrespect but these hotels will leave a bad taste. All the riff raff that you would not want to be a part of. Even if you are able to pull off a little gambling, you will be rubbing shoulders with the lower end of things. You will enjoy it more by holding off and saving more.

I realize not too constructive but believe the best route as I don't think you will enjoy yourself. I'm fact, I think you will have a terrible time.

Are you going with others? What's the scenario

No clue about air travel. But if you can get there:

check out American Casino Guide or Las Vegas Advisor coupon books. Should have a two-for-one or three-for-two room coupon for some place downtown. Shuttle from the airport should be under $30 round trip. Use the coupon books and promotions they give to new members and you should earn at least $100. There will be other promotions in those books that give you dining credits for 200 or 300 slot points. Learn video poked and you can eat very cheap (with a shot at a Royal or quads), if you drink, play at the bar very slowly

If you're desperate to gamble, either sports or poker. If you're playing black jack and the count goes to +4, how much can you really get down with enough to split or double? Sports at least you can watch the game for a couple hours of action. There are some good short stack poker strategies (again if you drink, this will be the time to do so, since they will be comped): buy in for $40 against big stacks, wait until you have AA, KK, QQ or AK and try to get a caller for half your stack. Then go all-in after the flop. Win or lose walk away
