I found out that ML is money line but I still don't get it.

Money line is referring to winning a bet straight up with out the point spread.

For example,

Houston vs. San Antonio, Game Houston +8
Houston vs. San Antonio, Game ML Houston

in the first case, you're giving Houston an additional 8 points for the game. If the game ends with San Antonio beating Houston 90-83. You would win the bet because Houston with the additional 8 points would win the game. However, if you picked Houston with the ML then you would've lost the bet because Houston fail to beat San Antonio straight up.

Before Offshore wagering lots of people never heard of Money Lines, unless they went to Vegas, or unless we're talking baseball. When I was a kid it took me what seemed like years to figure out baseball lines when I read them in the paper. Stuff like 7 1/2 6 1/2 drove me nuts for a while.

These are generally things that fall under the category of "the more you know, the less money you have". Kinda like shooting craps. I never bothered to learn the game. If Vegas came up with a simple game like Heads or Tails, and charged you 2 percent every time you threw the coin I think they would get even more business.

I remember when I first started wagering about a year and half ago. The only thing I understood was moneyline. It took a while to figure the significance of point spread to your betting strategy.
