Bouncer for the Rolling Stones. Maybe booking a little American Association baseball action too. Games were easier to throw back then.

What is so important about 1884 anyways. Why did Fish pick this date? There has to be a reason.

Well one way for sure would be to dive into those old time wooden dumpsters and find as many 50% off the Saloon Buffet coupons as possible.

Your Mod salary would have made you a landowner back then. You could have hired your own gardener.

Fish, I call. All in.

I don't buy what you are selling here. There is something specific about that date that would make you choose it. You can Wiki any year and there would be lots of note worthy events. There is something specific about this year that intrigues you.

FUNK, the obvious answer is that in 1884 you would have wanted to buy into ownership of The Providence Grays as they won the National League pennant going away.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PRO/1884.shtml

Led by rubber armed starter Charley Radbourn and his 59-12 record in 73 starts (678 IP), the Grays would finish 84-28 and win one of the earliest versions of the World Series by defeating the NY Mets three games to none.

They also had respectable power stats, finishing sixth in the league with 21 HRs....heh

73 starts? that is only 2 no-decisions and pitching 9 innings in 73 starts is 657 innings, and he pitched 678. That is insane by today's pitchers.
