Drunkguy........I can feel your frustration. You did a fine job of explaining your point. Sorry to see so many not get it.

I hope you realize though, that on a three teamer at 6-1 you actually do get a better payout than you would letting it ride three times. ($60 vs $59.57 in winnings in your example).

Open Parlays

Heritage Sports allows our phone customers to leave open sections in their parlays and teasers.

Simply call the wagering department, say you would like to make a 2 to 8 team parlay, or a 2 to 6 team teaser, give the clerk the selections you already know you want to put in, then tell them how many open selections you would like.

You can close these open selections at any time, there is no time limit. That means you can save your "Opens" from day to day, week to week, or even month to month.
Rules for placing Open Selections:

The maximum amount of open selections allowed in any parlay or teaser is 3.
Open plays can only be made over the phone.
Open selections can not be played during "Midweek Madness"
If the parlay or teaser has a loss with opens the parlay or teaser will be considered a loss.
If you have a two-team teaser with an open selection and a push the wager will be considered no action.
There is no time limit on when you can fill in an open selection.
The minimum wager on any "Open" parlay or teaser is $50.00.
If you have any questions please contact us at 800-800-7777.

Zapster - agreed that 3 temaers do give you a slight edge. 2 teamers and 4 teamers are not horrible either. Once you get past that, the raping begins with the vig...

El Hefe also gives a good example of using open parlays and taking advantage of higher than normal payout (14:5) as well as getting around limits. There are certainly good uses for parlays, but they're not readily obvious.

So you recommend mvpbets.com?

I used mvpbets.com a great deal for three straight years and liked them a lot - had good service, good parlay odds. I even visited their offices two times in Costa Rica.

This year, they seem to be under new management of somesort and it seems to basically be the same management/ownership as betonsports.com so I've backed off from using them.

But I think there are a few other books out there who offer the 14:5 odds on a two team parlay and I suggest seeking them out if you like playing parlays.
