You just rarely hear about a player going 17-1 or 1-17, happens once in a blue moon. When we are talking about chalk plays as we are in the case of the MFG record, then it is even more unlikely to occur.
How MFG managed to go 1-17 I will never know..don't even ask what the one win was...don't even ask. As far as I know, it was an over play that went into extra innings.
