I am not sure if this will catch on, but as the old saying goes, "Nothing venture,d nothing gained."

Hopefully, unlike most of the other threads in this section of the Forum as well as in the Political Section, people can simply state their

feelings but not attack those who those who have differing opinions.

Anyways the title of the thread is self-explanatory.

You are free to respond to this question using any criterion as you like as it applies to you and your family if applicable.

I will respond to my own question in a bit after I give it a little more thought.

Since no one responded to this post, as I surmised, I will respond to my own question and then move on unless of course

someone else cares to step forward and comment on this.

For me the effects so far have been relatively small.

What immediately comes to mind is

1) having to were a mask for a while until the requirement stopped.

2) For a while not being able to eat in restaurants and getting take-out food instead.

3) For a while doing shopping o line and not feeling comfortable going into Malls and stores immediately even after they

were open.

4) Not taking my usual 4 or so vacations because of worries about flights and going to different cities because of worries I

was exposing myself and my family to Covid.

5) Getting the two vaccinations.

That is what comes to mind for now.

Moving forward, I can't say for sure what the effects will be because as I have stated, Covid and the variants have no history

to rely on, meaning that it is still an unknown disease and what could happen as a result of this.

That said, my overall opinion is that eventually science and medicine will control it, and that at the very worst, what I cited above

as the effects so far COULD return but that there will not be anything which eclipses those.

Safe to assume 'most' would answer 1st part of ? as PROFOUNDLY affected...in so many ways and too many to answer...life as we knew it changed. Every aspect. Depending on ones stance/opinion/philosophy...I'd hope but also depends on how life is viewed or taken or mental makeup...one should/would/could get busy LIVING or get busy DYING...as that famous line goes. Easier said than maybe done but I guess it just depends on individual. No matter your stance or side you decide to be on, I believe history will not be kind to those currently in charge but maybe they just rewrite history?

The effects going forward is hard to imagine or TBD...again depending on side you are on dictates a lot of answers or thoughts:

It's a conundrum

I respect your opinion for sure.

As you say and/or imply, it really depends on one's overall point of view and philosophy as well as how much one chhoses

to place relatively speaking on one's own life as opposed to other members of society.

It is quite obvious right off the bat that we differ in that regard.

If I took the society approach, then it is quite obvious that lots of people were affected, with a good example being loss

of their jobs and thus less money to provide for themselves and their family.

Other examples include not being able to attend sporting events and in general things which they were used to doing and enjoyed

doing for a while.

In addition, some people were and are a lot more mentally disturbed about the requirement for having to wear a mask, a lot

of it being political in nature than anything else.

I didn't look at it that way at all, and viewed at as a safety measure only and no more of a big deal than brushing my teeth

each dy or putting my wedding ring on in the morning.

I could go on but hopefully you and others get the drift here.

I don't agree with you about the history part, and in any case, I believe that the focus of emphasis will be on Covid and the

mutations/variants themselves ane what was the final result of casualties, infections and how effective in retrospect the current

and future vaccines and boosters turned out to be.

Thanks for responding and enjoy your day!!
