That's pretty cool, rw. Brook trout that you caught yourself. I've never had brook trout. Bet it tastes a little better when you reel it in yourself. Is that fly fishing?I'm going to have a hodge-podge of stuff this year for Christmas .
Main Dishes : bbq ribs , brook trout ( that I caught myself in Iowa ) & goose ( given to me by a friend) Side Dishes : glazed carrots, deviled eggs, buttermilk biscuits, green bean casserole, corn bread, stuffing & scalloped potatoes
Dessert: cherry ( w/vanilla ice cream for pie a la mode), chocolate cream & coconut cream pies
& I'm going to break open a bottle of wine ( I have a small collection of Illinois & Iowa wines )
MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody ?

We're partial to fish caught in the cold ocean salt waters off of and north of New England.
typo , NORTHEAST Iowa is where you'll find Iowa's trout region .Yes sir fly fishing ? .
I caught them in Iowa trout country ... NORTHWEST Iowa ( aka: the driftless region ) in a trout stream outside decorah , Iowa .
& yes trout tastes better when you catch them yourself .
when I go fishing in Iowa it's always for trout , mostly brookies ( but I won't throw a rainbow back either if it's legal size ) .
I've become hooked ( pun intended ) on trout fishing .
