The lady should have never expected the restaurant to replace it to begin with.

I wouldn't have and would have nicely asked to have a replacement that I would pay for.

If she would have done that to begin with, they would have probably replaced it anyhow.

I was thinking. If the meal cost her $20 and it cost the restaurant $10 to make then it's basically a wash.

Just replace the meal and break even. Better than losing customers.

What if the same lady with the same attitude eats exactly half her meal, then complains. What do you do?

I'm not 100% sure how they do it in other States, etc. But I have seen where someone dropped their dish and the Restaurant gave that person a new meal, No charge.

Now her being a Bitch is another story... But still can't see them not giving her a new meal. It's just part of the business and customer service.

This is a good question though. Have a friend that use to own a great Long Island Steak house. Might see him tomorrow and will ask what he would do.

I was refercing the dennys post as well as the BK post.

I dont know what to do - most restaurant managers usually comp the meal - not sure if it is the +ev move, but i guarantee it happens in most places

My restaurant was in the richest part of town & the customer base was 98% white & I've noticed in those years that the richer the people are, the more pain in the butt they can be......

Of course it goes the other way when you're in town as well with non-whites as my cousin owns a restaurant downtown & his customer base is 90% non-whites & he sometimes complains about the scenarios he gets into with those customers.
